Re: new house design to accomodate parcel drop off 13Jan 07, 2018 9:06 am Joker Qebtel, if you took online sales from bricks N mortor away, from places like jb hi first, Harvey Norman, 6.6% would be half again, most online is from bricks N mortor, I'm a 35 year retail owner and part of a retail group including new Zealand franchise, sports stores, full independents, shoe stores, clothing stores, fishing and tackle groups, etc, you may pull information out of every where, but buddy I've been living it, end of story. Well I actually produced a reference, unlike the figures you gave out of thin air. In your post above you said you were a 20 year owner, now you are a 35 year owner. How about best of three? Nothing in your last past refutes what I said. My original point was the younger generations dont have the same level of tangency required to see and then buy goods , the way older generations do. Their whole world is seeing and believing everything they see on the net . You're obviously being threatened by online retailing , else why would you post your off topic remarks here? My commiserations to you. Hope you turn a dollar over this year. Re: new house design to accomodate parcel drop off 14Jan 07, 2018 10:03 am Joker SaveH2O Congratulations for considering the future. If only the same was done for house design. You tube shows some parcel drop off cabinets (Google using similar terms) but most are suitable for small boxes only. I like your idea in 3. Having a changeable code would allow the driver to access a weatherproof storage space that would lock when closed. The front side may also have to be 'raiseable' or 'lowerable' for ergonomics. The code used would be given to the retailer and the instructions written on the parcel. A nice custom unit would be money well spent and the drivers would also save time by not having to knock on the door first. Better to support your local business, or if this is not important to you, hope you don't loose employment when everyone does the same thing and purchase from anywhere but their own backyard.
