You know there was someone on the forum 18 months ago who had their entire driveway ripped up and replaced. As big as yours it was, and was exposed aggregate. One of their staff walked all over it leaving site, leaving footprints which could be seen clearly in the afternoon sun. She argued with them, withheld payment for a few months and eventually they took it all up and re-did it. Different to your situation i know but it just made me think of it. If you aren't happy or confident in its strength then certainly press for having the lot taken out and replaced. We got an electrician to do all the lights because even though my husband can do it, legally he isn't an electrician. It was easy though. Man we’re dying to get ours hooked up and finally see what’s it’s like. We chose 3000k warm white. How do you find it? Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 452Feb 24, 2018 8:43 pm Thanks everyone, we are loving being in our new house. Still lots of boxes around, and our front and back yards are still disaster areas. But we can't fault the quality of the build or any of the appliances. Now, if they would just pay out the liquidated damages they owe us.... Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 453Jun 17, 2018 1:10 pm Finally got our liquidated damages paid, more than 6 months after handover! It wasn't what they fully owed us, but we decided we couldn't be bothered fighting for more... And we have been told our driveway will be ripped up this week to start again. Your driveway is going to get rip up. What happened? At least you got some cash $$ for liquidated damages. At first they thought they could put a coating on it, but it was so bad they have decided to redo the whole thing. It's only taken 6 months..... 😡 Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 456Jun 18, 2018 10:35 pm The_Joneses I am not surprised you don't remember Shazaw, because our driveway was poured in DECEMBER, but they did a terrible job on a 38oC day and left a crumbly mess! It going to be one messy job to rip it out, do you have any landscaping finish near that driveway. they better do the driveway nicely this time. Build Thread : viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 457Jun 19, 2018 12:40 am So bad it’s taken them this long. It’s embarrassing for them and embarrassing for us too. Likewise I hope they do a spectacular job this time Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 458Jun 19, 2018 5:08 am That would be a big job I hope ours doesn’t ever need ripping up but will wait and see how it goes. That’s bad it’s taken so long for LD I hope ours come through quickly, I have no idea what they will present to us. Are you pleased with your house overall? Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 459Jun 21, 2018 9:34 pm Really the driveway was the only thing to complain about, we have been really happy with the quality of the rest of our build. The issue with our LD was that they didn't want to give us a figure on what they owed us. We had been disputing a month of delay days they added for "customer dispute" for a year, and they were refusing to respond to emails and answer calls. As soon as we got the figure (6 months after handover), they paid straight away. We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 37369 The biggest challenge will be if you take out a loan and then run out of money - you'll have an incomplete security and lenders do not like this so you can get stuck.… 2 19248 Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 13577 |
