Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 32 QLD 301Dec 29, 2017 9:39 pm Been out to the house a few times on the Christmas break. The cornices and tidy up of the walls was done before they left for their Chrissy closure, but we didnt reach lock up unfortunately. SS also called us before they finished up and said that our site would be tidied up and rubbish and left over bricks would be removed, but that didnt end up happening for some reason and our block is a bit of a mess still. Everything else is looking good so far. Only real things of any concern are our alfresco and laundry doors. Our alfresco stacker door runner and door jam in the bottom corner, where the door closes, was bent at some stage and hasnt been fixed yet and also our upgraded boutique laundry door is out of line and does not even close at all. Also noticed a few standard drains/waste grates laying around near the wet areas and hoping they arent going to be installed, since we actually upgraded to the bermuda square drains with the tile inserts instead... hmmm Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 32 QLD 302Jan 04, 2018 9:05 pm Been a busy week this week.... for furniture shopping that is... We did plenty of shopping over the chrissy break too Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 32 QLD 305Jan 05, 2018 12:59 pm We also have the same fridge just with the freezer drawer at the bottom instead Yay! Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 32 QLD 306Jan 05, 2018 3:06 pm Yay! Must have made a good choice with the fridge then, seeing its so popular We are a bit scared about the colour of the media room lounge we picked though, it only came in that colour or black and it just looked awful in black. Was a nightmare trying to find lounges that filled up the 5.3m wall in that room and it limited our options severely Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 32 QLD 307Jan 05, 2018 3:08 pm Caydenn We are getting the exact same fridge hahah, great choices!! I am building the Marcoola 32 at Mundoolun. We did want to buy in Canungra Rise as my kids go there but got a really good price on our land. Thank you for sharing your pictures will be good to know what to expect. Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 32 QLD 312Jan 12, 2018 5:32 pm I love your dining pendant and table I think once in yr pendants won’t look plain at all Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 32 QLD 313Jan 12, 2018 11:00 pm Thank you, i really hope so. Im finding it so hard to choose things that go together. I thought shopping for the house would be fun but im finding it super stressful http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=84825 Coral - Marcoola 32 Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 32 QLD 315Jan 15, 2018 10:00 pm Meeting with our tiler in the morning. We mentioned some concerns about the quality of other peoples tiling on here and our SS was great about it, very reassuring. The tiler then called us and insisted on meeting him on site to go over everything, before he starts. Cant wait to see them go in! On a different note, starting to get annoyed at where we placed our house on our block and wished we put more thought into it. We weren't going to put a pool in but have now changed our minds Apparently, we cant put one in unless it's 3m away from the house, or we'll void our house warranty, because we didnt get any extra piering put in the slab to accommodate it. I can see now why people like building more than once, unfortunately you only learn from your mistakes during the 1st build, after it's too late lol http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=84825 Coral - Marcoola 32 Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 32 QLD 316Jan 16, 2018 7:59 am How long is house warranty? Surely you could build one once that has lapsed. Our current pool is 1m away from our house, there has been no issues. We are in the starting stretch of building a modified Marcoola 32 also. we have a start date of Jan 29. Then the site gets handed back to our pool builder until Feb 5 and after that it is hopefully full steam ahead Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 32 QLD 317Jan 16, 2018 8:02 am Coral have a warranty on the house for 20 years and there is a steel frame warranty for 50 years from our understanding, hope that helps. In saying that my parents have neighbours that have pools just 1m from the house on either side up against their fence and it has only caused slight movement settling over the years, no damage to their homes though. Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 32 QLD 319Jan 16, 2018 12:17 pm Yeah apparently 1m from house is quite normal but not sure what to do, if it will hurt our warranty. I know the pool contractors can add more piering to the house slab when installing the pool but im not keen on paying an extra 5k for that or however much it could cost. Might just have to put the pool fantasy on the back burner for a while and see how we go later on http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=84825 Coral - Marcoola 32 Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 32 QLD 320Jan 16, 2018 12:19 pm Week 7 (last week) & week 8 this week, excluding the 2 weeks xmas closure:
We met with the tiler this morning and he very much put our mind at ease and was very helpful with our annoying questions haha feeling positive about it now after reading the bad experiences on here. Cant wait to see some tiles in next week All our skirting/architraves were put in last week along with internal doors, roof lining to alfresco and wardrobe and pantry shelves. Paint should be happening soon http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=84825 Coral - Marcoola 32 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13745 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 1767 Hi all. Anyone know when the $11,000 limit was set in legislation for renovations in QLD? Ive been renovating for 5 years now and this was the limit back then. As we know,… 0 4237 |
