We insulated our house and I have read online that all this insulation will need to be replaced, I am also very concerned about the data cabling we had laid in the house. Could anyone please provide some advice to what actually should be happening with the damage here? Good you’ve taken photos. Continue to take as many photos as you can over the coming days too. When this happened to be a senior manager at Coral came onsite , pushed the wall with his bare hand and said ‘see it’s sturdy. No damage’. And that was it. Needless to say I’ve got photos so if we ever have any issues, I’ll be throwing it right back at them. Coral unfortunately don’t have standards. If it looks ok to the eye that’s all that matters to them. Thanks MrsJM I won't be letting those walls stay. There is insulation behind them that is now useless and needs to be removed as per the product guidelines. I have done some reading on QBCCs guidelines for flooded walls and all plasterboard and insulation must be removed and replaced... waiting for my SS to get in touch so we can meet up and I am going to mark all affected walls to be removed. Our house has been fully bricked now and there are a few things which caught my eye which I need advice as to whether this is bad work or as intended? We have holes in our mortar that are strangely placed, they are more untidy than weep holes and I don't know if they are intentional? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Also, in our expansion joints there is no material in the space, it was my understanding that this is to be installed whilst bricks are laid, or does it go in post brick laying? I have also noticed random mortar joins through the expansion joints? Hi Caydenn, We had our foam put in during the build and when the silicon happened internally and externally they sealed it up. There should be a clear space and expansion foam in there for now though. Yes I too would get this replaced it will cause you problems down the track. As a builder they should just replace it but they are so dod$ey it's not funny!!! Going to call my SS today and go over the wet plasterboard issue that happened over the break, I'll let everyone know how I go. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10259Jan 08, 2018 11:04 am We have PCI coming up and know there are a tonne of things that need fixing, any guidance on how PCIs have gone for anyone in the past? Have you had your handover pushed back because of issues? Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10260Jan 08, 2018 11:20 am Hudson House We have PCI coming up and know there are a tonne of things that need fixing, any guidance on how PCIs have gone for anyone in the past? Have you had your handover pushed back because of issues? What sort of issues do you have are they just cosmetic or big issues. I assume if they are big issues it could get pushed back. We are wondering the same we have a independent building inspector coming with us it may cause us to find more issues although I prefer them to be fixed before we move in. Fingers crossed for you tho You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14078 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13746 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 1768 |
