Good to know gas meter is in! Whew! But that’s such circuitous process though. From our experience, we received an email from the builder when gas line was going in and we had to arrange / choose our own provider and arrange for a meter to be installed. Twas pretty straightforward - called AGL and they sent someone within a couple of days done. So all in gas line, gas meter installation was about 3 or 4 business days. Plus I got to have the discount with my gas and electricity since they saw I had both accounts with them already. Bet you’re excited for Friday! We have one conduit with drawstring between the garage and the side of the house, then another between the side of the house and the nbn pit on the street. Somehow the end of the later ended up cast into the slab. We only noticed when we were checking if everything was ready to book opticomm to come and run the cable. Fortunately we had photos from slab stage that showed where it was. Still took some convincing our SS that there should be two conduits . https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_ ... are_type=t Re: JG King modified Heywood - Handover tomorrow 1365Dec 14, 2017 9:15 am Handover is happening at 11am tomorrow! A heap of work is meant to happen today and stuff will likely still be happening tomorrow. The caulker for one! Blinds are going in at 8am tomorrow and clean is booked for 9.30am. Does anyone know who hooks the gas meter to the house? We assumed the builders plumbers would need to finish it off, our SS wasn't sure (still learning), he thought maybe origin weren't finished? Still no dishwasher, apparently they are always on a separate purchase order to all the other appliances, and I don't think our SS was even sure that we weren't bringing our own. So now he's just hoping there is one in Geelong somewhere! Re: JG King modified Heywood - Handover tomorrow 1366Dec 14, 2017 3:45 pm bank Handover is happening at 11am tomorrow! I haven't stopped all day to think about it, I might cry when I do Re: JG King modified Heywood - Handover tomorrow 1368Dec 14, 2017 4:10 pm Just had an update from SS, sounds like we've had one of the most productive days of the entire build! And a few more things to happen in the morning, such as the door handle which finally arrived today! C of O passed! No dishwasher until Tuesday though . None in Geelong. Re: JG King modified Heywood - Handover tomorrow 1370Dec 14, 2017 5:26 pm Um..omg..what?? Handover?? That seemed to sneak up while I wasn't looking!!! I'm so glad to hear things are being fixed at last!! Good luck for tomorrow, I hope handover goes smoothly, you deserve it!! Will be so great to see you in before Chrissy (even though its cutting it close!!). Photos, lots and lots of photos.. and when you think you've posted enough.. post more!! Re: JG King modified Heywood - Handover tomorrow 1372Dec 14, 2017 9:02 pm We got our change of occupancy this morning, then an hour later the final invoice. Lunchtime we signed form for release of final payment and handed to bank. Chris was told 'we want you in by thursday' (next week) but we can't do handover until builder is paid, (or atleast confirmation from bank). Have you made your final payment? can't believe we are both nearly there! Re: JG King modified Heywood - Handover tomorrow 1373Dec 14, 2017 9:37 pm Hope all goes well for you tomorrow! Got a bit of a stuff up today with ours. We only got our C of O at 10am, hand over at 11.30am but builder won’t give keys until bank has paid - but we literally JUST got C of O and forwarded it to the bank so obviously there’s some processing to be done etc. argh so much drama in the end. So until that’s paid up, we don’t have keys! Requested payment last Friday, inspection was done Monday and got a text to say it was ready last night (Wednesday). It doesn't feel real to me! It's going to be bizarre when our SS leaves and we stay. It feels like you only just started! We're both going to have a busy Christmas! https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_ ... are_type=t Re: JG King modified Heywood - Handover tomorrow 1375Dec 14, 2017 10:13 pm yarraland Hope all goes well for you tomorrow! We thought we were going to have the same problem but found out last Friday that westpac didn't need to see the C of O, just proof of insurance and the final claim. https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_ ... are_type=t Re: JG King modified Heywood - Handover tomorrow 1376Dec 15, 2017 7:41 am Awesome news! This has been adventure for me too over 18 months following your experience. Hope I’ve helped. If I can give passing advice on your last day just watch the cleaners closely. Ours scratched the gas cooker removing a sticker and scratched a window when they wiped caked mud off it. They will do a terrible job cleaning anyway and you’ll still be hoovering up sawdust in weeks to come. Great job for sticking through this and not loosing your minds. I've added check all glass for scratches to my list for today! The blind installer turned up here at 8 this morning! Took me a moment to figure out who I was looking at , I knew the face but was expecting the tiler back to caulk. Wrong house mate, you should be at our other house! Plan was for me to stay there this arvo and clean before sealing grout this weekend but the cleaner was only just starting when we finished handover, felt a bit weird waiting for her to clean and figured I'd be in the way when she got to the floors so I'm back to packing boxes . Still a few bits and pieces to do, most being done today and over the weekend, a few next week. 🤞 Anyway blinds look great! Curtain I think is a bit short but otherwise looks fantastic!
