Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Dec 02, 2017 10:45 am Hi Just looking at my house plans that is yet to commence construction and noted the alfresco under the main roof is narrated 'strip footing only' (Paved by owner). Does this mean they will not pour a concrete slab in the alfresco and that it will just have a bordered strip footing with just natural soil left in the middle? Just want to prepare myself for the discussion with the builder. So the fact there is strip footings, is this indicative of a concrete pad? Re: Strip footing alfresco - does this mean no concrete slab 4Dec 02, 2017 11:41 am Rusty_spoon The draftsperson has made a mistake (what does indicative only mean?) which will either cost you money to add footings or create a big problem for you if the footings are taken out. if you are on reactive soils then the paving needs to be replaced with concrete slab which require footings Designer,Engineer (Civil,Const & Envir),Builder,Concrete & Masonry Contract.Struct Repairs yep sounds good make the footing bigger to to allow for the pipe in the middle 3 7297 PM me your email. I have a build excavation calculator you can use based on your plans to double check what your builder is telling you. Cheers Simeon 1 10206 I've dug some footings to embed a post anchor into. My holes are around 450mm deep which I'll put a 200mm stirrup into. The bottom of these holes seem firm enough. … 0 3298 |
