Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 486Dec 04, 2017 8:10 pm Entilzha rough guideline assuming no delays etc is lockup pre christmas shutdown and handover late March Would be nice to be in before easter and early to mid march would be inconvenient timing for me at least the neighboring builds should be well progressed by then when it comes time to do fencing - hoping the adjoining Boundary build has at least got brickwork up by then so i can do final gate and fencing. then bank payment and financing things too wait from bank and fixups if any? Maybe will give you that 2 weeks. Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 487Dec 05, 2017 1:52 pm Just had an interesting discussion with a tradie on my site. Apparently the copper and wiring etc. Has been cut and removed 2 or 3 times now. Electrician was there fixing it again this morning when the insulation people turned up and then left. Was told they normally try to do wiring day before linings to avoid this but due to how busy they are currently its not happening that way. Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 489Dec 05, 2017 1:58 pm that sounds stupid and a waste of some tradies time Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 491Dec 05, 2017 2:17 pm Problem probably is though it just takes one incident to delay multiple sites as they try to rectify it and then has a snowball effect. Lovisa You have probably been hit more than the once your aware of and that just keeps adding to delay. If i reach lockup before they shutdown in 2 weeks i will be happy. Otherwise can imagine post christmas needing more rework Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 492Dec 05, 2017 2:21 pm Our friends is on locup and got cupboards/cooling piping and wires stolen on Sunday The thing is we go there every da and brickies was there 2, they really didnt fix any thing so could not been hit again if there was nothing to take With the change in the ss it caused us at least a week for him to go and assess the probem. would be good to have linigs in garage ad doirs if tradies time is an issue before they do electrical then at least more protected Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 494Dec 07, 2017 9:22 am Hi Entilzha, Great to know so many information about your build journey...sounds exciting. Where r u building your house? Means which development in north? How are the soil n footing cost there? Good Luck Naina Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 495Dec 08, 2017 7:37 pm well bricking now looks completed - might pile up the left overs for myself - maybe a home made BBQ down the track Linings has progressed and they did a good job of putting my tv cable conduit in a spot where i will easily locate it (i asked the tradie this morning to do it for me as still coudlnt access that section of wall) I now have a power meter as well. One issue i noticed today is the external power points on the rear wall have been put at different heights one is 5 bricks from ground and the other is 7 bricks from ground - hoping they can rectify that easily or fix it as think it will look odd. the wall mount lights on the back wall are both correct at 3 bricks down. Advised builder and they will look into it but with linings completed and a D2 OS'Brace in the way that will be fun to fix The last 2 days have been only times i have gone on site in the morning and must say im quite happy with the amount of light getting into the rear living area. though once pergola goes up that might change (now looking at a pitched pergola with a a colorbond roof on the NW facing side and a transparent roof on the SE (house) side - should let in in plenty of light and keep summer afternoon sun of the rear of the house i hope Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 496Dec 08, 2017 8:10 pm π± No idea what they are trying to do at ours looks more like nothing ... Excess bricks get used with plumbing of bathrooms and ensuite We got toldthat we only paid for the ones that wasused and not the excess. Builder can remove them at any time either for another site or to re sell π± Re: Hickinbotham Torquay Mod 497Dec 08, 2017 8:43 pm yep will leave them and im sure they will be gone at some point. was a passing thought i had as i hate wastage and trying to approach post handover with a minimalist attitude and hating seeing the wastage that seems to occur while building. Hi, I'll be starting on my verandah repair soon - replace ledger, rafters, roofing iron, flashing etc. (fascia board already done). My question is about the timber ledger… 0 7892 1 10870 |
