A positive is I think that means that your NBN connections/cables will be underground whereas ours will be overhead.

On the 14th we had PCI which we did with a builder friend who took almost 3 hours doing the inspection. He found 34 defects that need to be repaired or replaced, so the next day I sent a whole report to SS and CRC. I've found interesting that we have just heard back from CRC (lovely woman) and not SS, it seems SS was no happy we found all those issues. Anyway, so as nothing has happened I sent an email to both last Wed chasing a final inspection day and it paid well as CRC call me to arrange for this coming Tuesday final inspection, so if everything is ok we might receive our house keys the same day o Wed. I cannot believe we are probably moving next weekend 🤗🤗🤗 Amazing! Fingers crossed! Here a photo of the side fencing colours we want, hopefully we will find something no more expensive than $500. I have enjoyed watching your progress - can you tell me approx how many weeks so far taken for your build from the time works begun? We have just completed our colour selection (take 2) and waiting for contracts to be finalised. It's close to Christmas break now, so I doubt we will start building before mid to late January, but we are hoping to be in by July....so curious to know how long your build has taken. We are building the Rio with Portland facade and I really like your external colours! Portland facade seems to be pretty popular in QLD, so far I have seen at least 6 houses in my neighborhood with it. Site was cut on the 23rd of August and then slab on the 30th, so we will have handover within 3 months 😄 I believe Simonds is a good builder, so if everything is arranged well at admin stage you won't have any delays once build starts. By reading other Simonds threads in here I found they take an average of 3 and half months to finish for one story homes 🤗 Good luck. I will have o/seas visitors in July next year. We have just completed colour selections and waiting on the contract...so if we start in January, we should make it. All the best for your new home! We got 3 weeks delays because of the so many variations (mostly upgrades and pricing errors). I would recommend to triple check all your inclusions to make sure is right. Re: Brookfield home By Simonds 39Nov 30, 2017 6:59 am We have finally had our PC done and signed. So far we are happy with everything the builder has done and are willing to have handover tomorrow or Friday depending on our bank check. Although we are disappointed to see that our floor grouting is still defective as its colour is not uniform throughout hallway, family, dining and kitchen areas. In our PCI report was shown as defect but the issue persists. SS just said that because it is almost white it will get dirty any way in a couple of months. So of course I am upset because that is my issue, no now that is new and I am not yet living in it 😲 We said we need to get a fixed grout, and then he said he will TRY but can't compromise. So I had to send an email escalating the issue with the builder CRC. I even sent a link with the QBCC standard and tolerances (page 62): http://www.qbcc.qld.gov.au/sites/defaul ... uide_0.pdf Our CRC spoke to me on the phone and listened to my complaints in a good manner, she will try to help. In the last photo we can see a good grout.
