What kind of bother me is the material for floor on ground level. It doesn't sounds like a good quality but they do not really give option on material? On the upper floor it will be standard light weighting material - according to the sales manager. Not sure are those material good enought since I am concerning it will be too noisy for ground floor. With HBC it seems there is no change (except some upgrade) on the structure and building material. Is this normal for everyone? Does anyone has a built home who could share experience with us? Thanks everyone. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4946Nov 22, 2017 6:52 am Elva I am about the sign a contract with HBC for Eureka 22. Thanks everyone. i went in without knowing that reinforcement walls, better soundproofing, etc could be upgraded. is best to be asked for the costs, details beforehand. I've tried asking for an upgrade to the waffle pod slabs but were told they couldn't change it to others. with HBC facade's are not free even with the standard/traditional rendering. hope my experience did help a tad. D: Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4947Nov 26, 2017 5:23 pm HI guys. Love this thread. Has anyone been able to exclude the heating from the Home Buyers Centre contract (final house price). As most have suggested there prices to upgrade the units to 6 star are way over priced. Would rather not install anything on build and do it our selves. Maybe a naive question but just getting your thoughts. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4948Nov 28, 2017 8:31 pm At your prestart appointment, you can remove the heating and get a $2000 credit. We did this and are adding our own ducted reverse cycle after build completes instead Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4949Dec 04, 2017 2:32 pm We are building a Jasper 17 and have my custom appointment with HBC tomorrow and I feel like we are unprepared? Anyone has tips or what we should consider? or even what would you have done differently...? thanks heaps! You guys have been so helpful! Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4950Dec 04, 2017 8:46 pm You definitely have an advantage by having the custom appointment. I would ask what upgrades you can have as it wasn't till after my appointment (which than you can not make any changes) that I learnt certain upgrades you could have which I wasn't aware of till mentioned on this site. Unfortunately we feel like we rushed during the process. I thought it was a 6 hours custom appt turn out to be only 4 hours. I feel like the whole experience was rushed. we are having doubts if we make a good decision. Argh worst feeling ever! Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4952Dec 08, 2017 7:34 pm I’m just wondering if anyone’s land settlement has caused their PWC to be cancelled by HBC, I’ve just been told we’re pased a 6month threshold and our contract is now going up? Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4953Dec 08, 2017 7:36 pm Yup ours is going up. I’m too scared to ask do I’m just going to wait Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4954Dec 08, 2017 7:45 pm Any idea what that means exactly? All I was told today was it’s going up, she doesn’t know by how much but we should be prepared for “pretty high” price protection costing... Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4955Dec 08, 2017 7:47 pm I’ve heard people say between 10k-20k Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4956Jan 05, 2018 2:03 pm Anna 10 I wanted to ask those who have built the Jasper17 what size table they ended up buying. I'am looking at a 210cm table but I am worried it may be to big for the room. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4957Jan 05, 2018 2:04 pm Anna 10 Hi everyone....I just wanted to ask anyone who has built the Jasper17 what air conditioner have you bought? As it seems some are too long in width and won't fit in the main area. And if 5KW is enough for the space or whether I need to go higher in kW. Getting real close now. What i wish i done differently with this was extended the driveway so it wasnt diagonal. Will either get it done or will put gravel/stones so theres more room for the cars. Facade - Fenton Exterior - Marble Hi, is this the same as the Fenton 2.0 facade? We chose that facade in marble Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4959Jan 11, 2018 3:26 pm Alright, I do have a minor update, our developer has come back and said our settlement is due the 24th of Jan (YAY.) know that we have a settlement date HBC has come back to us with the correct amount for our late settlement, they a had previously told us 12k around when I asked in early Dec. Its come in about 8k, and during this time they have told us the bushfire provision for my block has been cancelled too, so a credit of 7k is due. So after all the stress of "pretty high" price protection costing it worked out to be about 1k, such a relief! HBC is asking me for 8K for a 6 months delay, this is not reasonable for me. I havent, and i havent looked to much into it, but on face value its not the saviour its trying to make out to be.
