It’s so timeless. I also love the feature door idea. Makes the house unique I think. We are thinking of painting our weatherboards blue charcoal and our door a blush pink colour . I’m still not sure though. Do you have some inspo pics to share? I’ll have to check out your thread Re: Our Custom Hamptons Inspired Home - Frame Stage 513Nov 16, 2017 11:43 am Dani_J Oh and while the scaffolding is still up, they will paint the weatherboards straight after they are installed. Which means we REALLY need to decide on a paint colour. I was not happy with our original choice (grey pebble half) which is a bit beige. Have decided on Dieskau which is a popular weatherboard colour and hopefully complements the shale grey render of our ground floor and our Surfmist gutters/ downpipes. I love this colour but I'm not sure. Thoughts? I'd guess that they can't put cavity sliders in as the cavity is hollow and if the wall is load bearing it needs to be strong enough to well bear the load so it needs full framing. Only a guess though. Oh and I love deisku it was my second choice for our interior walls. In the end vanilla quake won out but they are so similar I think deisku just had a touch more violet in it. Barely noticeable though but could only chose one. Oh and that door colour is amazing!!! I say go for it!!! ❤️ Re: Our Custom Hamptons Inspired Home - Frame Stage 515Nov 17, 2017 8:36 am Magavin Great to hear the updates Dani. In lieu of that I think we will have to stick with double doors. They suggested hanging the sliding doors on the outside but that looks terrible to me, so old fashioned! Your wall colour was a great choice. It’s so hard to choose one from so many and have to have to hope it will look good in different levels of light. For inside, I am still undecided whether to go with a light grey with warmer or cooler undertones... Yes the door colour was an amazing choice by the designer, just not sure if I am brave enough!! Might do some mocks up on the PC to try and visualize it better Re: Our Custom Hamptons Inspired Home - Frame Stage 516Nov 17, 2017 11:16 pm Dani_J ruraldoc Glad to hear of some progress.. it is truly exhausting waiting for a build! With the rain we’ve had I think they’ve been unable to get up on the scaffold due to OH&S. So no weatherboards up yet, just the sheeting underneath the eaves. Looks good though. Make them fix it!!! They can't say no coz you paid and asked for it! Othewrise, woohoo on cavity sliders. I totally look at our house now thinking.. hmm could have a cavity door there... and there... everywhere! Well not everywhere... but maybe a few more. We are going with -pebble grey full for the weatherboards. I think any of those grey tones will look great you can't go wrong. About the waste for the floating vanity. My plumber told me you can do a floating cabinet but have a recessed kickboard to cover the water pipe so it still looks like it's floating. We are considering doing this as the water pipe is in the ground on ours.
