Re: Quote for raising house and building underneath 54Aug 09, 2007 9:27 pm I sure hope the same doesn't apply to tiles.
Still getting quotes, $25k seems about right for the raising part. Looking around $30-50k for our two-part slab, 1m retaining wall, waterproofing and termite. Re: Quote for raising house and building underneath 55Sep 07, 2007 9:54 am Well she's almost finished and its come up a treat! Front Stairs installed in last few weeks by Ideal Stairs in Brisbane who did a very good job at a resonable price, WE NOW HAVE A SPARE SET OF GAL STEEL STRINGERS WE USED AS A TEMPORARY (as in 3-4 weeks) 18 steps, very good condition cost us $1000 for the pair, would love to help someone out with them for $500, if interested send me a private message, cheers Wyld Re: Quote for raising house and building underneath 56Sep 07, 2007 9:57 am wyld,

Apparently this has been in since Sep 2006 but all the contractors I spoke to have never used these forms, anyone else had this hassle? Re: Quote for raising house and building underneath 58May 31, 2008 6:49 pm Hi.
Found this thread on google. Looking to buy a house on southside Brisbane, which we can raise and build in underneath. Need extra rooms and bathroom. Any recommendations on businesses to contact regarding raising a house? What kind of costs end up being involved to raise and pour slab? Anyone looked into this recently (2008)? Thanks! Re: Quote for raising house and building underneath 59Jun 01, 2008 7:00 am Hi Mate,
in order to get proper quote/s from the lifting guys and the builders you need to have plans, to get plans you need a pretty good idea of what you require and submit it to the draughstman/engineer, recommend CDS Drafting cdsdrafting@optusnet.com.au and then get the lifting guys recommend Budget House Raising @ Wynnum. earler in the post I mentioned costs to give you an idea, you will need to add probably 30% to the lifting costs now as steel costs have blown through the roof, but work on 200k to 250k for the full job, best of luck it's a big job but when your returns from grey to normal after its completed its all worth it Re: Quote for raising house and building underneath 60Jun 07, 2008 11:26 pm Thanks for that. I contacted a few local companies to get an idea. Sounded like around $60k to raise 3BR home, including reconnecting everything and laying slab, ready to build in. The most likely cause of your timber swelling (parquetry?) is either a plumbing leak or carelessly leaving water on floors after use or both.
