I'm looking forward to the slab going down and getting a better idea of the amount of space we have around. It's not looking like much at the back at the moment Re: KDR - SE Melb - Simonds Flinders - ON SITE FINALLY 191Nov 08, 2017 3:47 pm Re: KDR - SE Melb - Simonds Flinders - ON SITE FINALLY 193Nov 09, 2017 4:12 pm Received an email from CRC this morning. 2 minor changes required. One is moving the rear garage door slightly and a 350mm brick nip wall next to our garage roller door. Also got our next rates notice in the mail and was not impressed. Apparently our block is worth more without the old house and the rates went up. Today's slab prep - It's supposed to be ready for pour on Monday?!?! It looks good but I'm not sure it will be ready in time. Now I'm just really really scared to see what it will be ben the new house is built. For the slab, you will be surprised at how quickly it comes together. Do you have a raft slab or waffle going in? Yeah I called to question it. Have to say they weren't very nice at the council about it. He did say that they increase the rates on vacant blocks to encourage building rather than blocks sitting vacant. I'm wondering how much more our will go up with the new house too!!! Oh he did tell me to get our bins collected and then they'll take the garbage collection fee off the rates. We've got waffle pods (I think they are called??). Our land is pretty much flat. How's your frame going? Re: KDR - SE Melb - Simonds Flinders - ON SITE FINALLY 197Nov 10, 2017 5:58 am The council just make you laugh and depending on who you speak to, will depend on your negative or positive experience, which is really sad from a service company. Be careful having your bins removed - you may have to pay to get them back Waffle slabs go up very quickly as there is not much digging. Framing is going well they have finished the lower level and have started on the second one. The expect to be completed in another week or so and then we are ready for the slab\frame inspection - no dates as yet tho. I'll go out this afternoon for a nosey Re: KDR - SE Melb - Simonds Flinders - ON SITE FINALLY 198Nov 10, 2017 10:51 am Spoke with someone at the council re bins. They will be collected and the garbage charge taken off our rates. Once we need bins again we call to order them and the garbage portion will be put back on. Not sure it will save anything but we’ll see. The green waste bin went missing the other week anyway so it needs to be replaced. So our slab was due to be poured Monday but I can’t see it happening. They haven’t started framing it up yet. The steel was delivered early today and the waffle pod things before lunch. Pre Pour inspection is booked for 6.30am Monday. They told me they'd spoken to SS, everything is going to be formed up on Saturday ready for pour on Monday. Hence the early morning inspection time. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 13301 |
