The narrow dining is out of proportion. You can consider to rotate the island to face dining, reconfigure the kitchen layout, that way gives you more depth in dining. We are building liberty40, very similar layout with island facing back, I don’t have any issue with that as you are looking towards the backyard when washing. Of course you need wife’s permission. Personally I think having a good sized dining is way more important, it’s just personal opinion, good luck! Re: Building with Metricon - Liberty 45 - NSW 28Nov 06, 2017 12:04 pm dfin Hi All, Also want some inputs on an issue with the dinning area. Bcause the floor ratio limitation, we have to reduce the size of the dinning area. Now the depth of it is only about 2.3 meters, will this be a problem. Did not actually think it through previously. Is there any suggestion on the kitchen/dinning floor plan change to mitigate it? Thanks a lot! Here's the Metricon Vantage layout, there's also a few other designs they have that also follow that layout. So it's more common than you think =) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Building with Metricon - Liberty 45 - NSW 29Nov 06, 2017 12:19 pm LibertyNR dfin LibertyNR At the moment, the space in front of island is a big waste. Was quite upset last night for having not noticed and fixed this issue early. Thanks very much for all your kind help, made me encouraged for the journey to come! Glad that you have a happy wife now. In fact, it you are willing to cut the walk in linen back 600, you are going to have bigger kitchen, would be nice. Have you considered to add a sliding door between kitchen and laundry, we did, we thought it would be handy to look after washings when cooking, and taking out the rubbish from kitchen too. And the hot water unit could be on the other side for kitchen and bathroom to have quicker access Re: Building with Metricon - Liberty 45 - NSW 32Nov 06, 2017 2:59 pm LibertyNR dfin dulie [quote="dfin"]Hi All, Also want some inputs on an issue with the dinning area. Would you mind share your floorplan? Feels there should be lots of stuff I can learn Re: Building with Metricon - Liberty 45 - NSW 34Nov 07, 2017 3:52 pm Thanks for sharing, looks great!
