Good morning, new kid on the block here!
We met with a mortgage broker this week and were very excited to discover we can afford to knock down and rebuild our existing home.
Our budget is $300k ish. And of course I am FULL of questions.
We looking to a volume builder, its our first build and my husband and I need all the hand holding we can get. We also feel more comfortable with a fixed price upfront rather than a moving feast.
As a ball park what is a safe budget to "finish" the house? So if the house base price is $250k - what should we allow for upgrades, landscaping, window furnishings etc? I know it will vary according to us doing it ourselves, but just looking for a figure to work with.
We are looking for a single storey design and have GJ Garder homes, Highview Homes, Boutique Homes and Metricon in the mix.
Any feedback on these are welcome!
Finally, has anyone discovered a brilliant spreadsheet template or app to use to manage their build?
Thanks so much, looking forward to be part of the new build community!
