Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Oct 27, 2017 4:17 pm Hi there, in the process of designing our new house. I have had some feedback from someone that currently has this layout and they don't like it. They say it feels boxed in and a waste of space. She also mentioned the moisture and clothes aren't a good combination, we will have fans. Thoughts?? Thank you! Re: Ensuite/WIR layout 3Oct 27, 2017 5:50 pm I’ve heard not so great things about WIRs coming off ensuite but prob depends on ventilation too. Maybe have entrance through bedroom to WIR? You could also them move vanity to the wall and have it a bit longer? You might need to swap toilet and shower around if you do that so you have somewhere for towel rail.. are you having a door on the toilet? I would do it if you get the option; much nicer but that’s only my opinion Re: Ensuite/WIR layout 4Oct 27, 2017 8:08 pm Thanks for your help! I liked the idea of walking into the WIR from the bathroom to get dressed, but I guess it's not a big deal having to walk around. Unless if we just put a door there? Would that help? Yes we are definitely putting a door on the toilet, and if it stays there we will put in a window otherwise it will be a cave! Thanks again. Re: Ensuite/WIR layout 5Oct 27, 2017 8:20 pm I'm not a fan of the WIR from the bathroom, even with fans and good ventilation you'll still get moisture in there to some degree. Also, what if you just want to grab a jacket or something, you'll have to walk all the way around every time. Personally not a fan of the shower tucked away like that, will feel like your showering in a little cave or box. Plus things will keep falling off the vanity... Personally remove the door the WIR to free up more wall space and then move the toilet, vanity and shower around to give you more light and openness. I was also thinking of swapping the toilet and shower around so its closer to the window to let some steam escape. If you can put the toilet behind the door so its not easily seen, thats always good too. Thanks for the suggestion. The space between shower and sinks was too tight. I agree about the toilet location. So I have tried two other options: The lower one is… 3 6144 the step up is 30mm and wanting it to be flat . how much does the concrete have to be lowered .we plan on removing bath and lenghten shower and adding seat. the old bath… 0 11838 |
