We are going with Bentleigh (34 or 38 sq.. still deciding) which looks like Merricks with small changes. They were in promo when we locked the price and our SC will do it as a house and land package (even though we secured the land prior) so any further delays with our current land title date (which is in seot 2018) is not a problem and does not need to pay penalties I'm excited but nervous of the process since it's our 1st time to build and we still live in Sydney. So, we actually went back with the original plan of having the garage door in the pantry. I didn't want to lose Pantry space.The Merricks 42 pantry is such an awesome size. However, we did keep the open plan study/living. Hubby wants a billiards table, and that was the only place we could fit it, and still have a lil formal area as one section. I have emailed out SC asking if there was a chance at all to change to the Bentleigh 42 (promo amount). You wouldn't have the floorplans at hand? (SC said plans cant be emailed as the promo has ended- **MASSIVE EYE ROLL**) SC was going to ask her manager if we could still get the promo price. I've got everything crossed. There are only slight differences that I can live with, and with the price of nearly 20k less than the Merricks 42 I'm really hoping they will allow us to have the promo. So wish me luck. If they could honour that promo price, we will definitely; as a goodwill gesture, add a few more upgrades. We are currently about 15k over budget, so this promo will definitely help us out HEAPS! If your land is titled or soon to be titled you could get a discount up to a max of around $10k. And Bentley prices I should have. . So, we were able to have them open up the Bentleigh promo for us... we were hoping that wed go for the 42 for 289k and keep the current freedom promos we had selected for the merricks ( we would have saved about 15k)...that was a complete fail. The bentleigh have their own promos and we couldnt use what we had for the merricks promo. So in the end... it would have only been almost a couple of hundred dollars difference. What a shame. I was really hoping for a few thousand dollars in savings.. (but that was definitely wishful thinking.) Sooooo we are back with Merricks 42. However still requesting quotes from other builders to see if we can get a lil more for out $$ I have posted this before: We hired Darbecca to do every stage inspection, and I strongly recommend them to anyone that asks me.
