Hey, has anyone tried to choose internal paint colours that weren't part of the standard range? Just wondering if they allow any Taubmans colour or if it has to be chosen from the standard colour range. Thanks.
We went with the standard colours as we were happy with gothic cream and crisp white, but if you want to upgrade to 3 coats instead of 2, I believe you can pick any taubmans colour. It will cost you upward of $2000 though.
Hi voz, It sounds like they will be getting the contractor to come back and finish the job. I am not sure why they did them in part. Generally the whole lot happens at the same time but they can always come back and do it later. There are a number of reasons why they could have done it this way, one being that they may not have any access later to that specific area. Before the job is handed over to you, please make sure that all the insulation is spread around and you are provided with a certificate. You can also look through the manhole for a quick check but obtaining the certificate is a must. I hope this helps. Our contract states 38 weeks for build time. First email from our previous SS clearly mentioned not to ask about finishing time so I never did. As we have progressed in construction, SS should have better idea now. I am worried about the Christmas slow period though.
Do you think your house will be settled before/by Christmas?
Cheers!
That would be great . Our ss was very non committal when I asked him but he said he has never gone over contract time in the 8 years he has been doing this. I would be happy with mid Jan as then the kids can settle in before school returns.
Our contract is 39 weeks and according to Eden Brae our building commenced on 15 May which brings us to 14 Feb.
Just to be clear: read the fine print. Contract time typically excludes the holiday period over xmas and any rain days. They will take all of these into consideration and they will extend your total 'experienced' build time. It's not saying they will use them all up. But they can. Don't stare at the 39 weeks blindly. We did, and were very disappointed.
Hi All, just needing some help working out additional costs for larger floor tiles (main areas and wet areas) -600x600. Can anyone let me know the additional costs to factor in - extra labour, glue ect (price per m2)? We have tried speaking to di lorenzo but they won't give out any pricing until after our colour selection, which is frustrating in case the cost is too high and we have to re-pick a different tile. Thanks in advance

You are right and it is good advice. They just seem to be going so quickly and we are getting excited. Thankfully we have had hardly any rain. Not sure how long they close for xmas as I have not got a definitive answer.

Who did you try speaking with at Di Lorenzo? Maybe I might be able to help you speak to the manager on your behalf to get some prices.

Thanks for offering your help! We are just after a rough pricing of all the extra costs associated with laying a larger tile in main and wet area, as we are aware that each build is individual. We have spoken to a lady at the showroom (not sure of the name), and also tried emailing (we got a response from Dani - email signature said she was the manager of the castle hill showroom). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

600 x 600 tiles starts from $45 per sqm and also the labour for laying is around $80 per sqm and offcourse you will get credit of tiles/carpet you have in your house. Hope this helps. It can cost you around $15,000 for 24 square house...
Wondering if anybody is building with EBH in the Hunter Valley region? We were released into construction after a very poorly communicated, slow, and unprofessional admin experience. I sent an email Monday afternoon to our SS (who we have never spoken to). No response. Yesterday I gave him a call and he had no idea who we were or where our block was, but said it would be excavated Monday..? Said he'd call today to confirm our start date. Well its after 5 now... Pretty disappointing first impression. Feeling like I went with the wrong builder right now...

From my knowledge it is around 4 weeks, but I could be wrong..

Does anyone have any idea on how long Eden Brae take to build a single storey house? I was told by few of my friends that they generally finish in 4-5 months.. Is that true?
I’m curious about how you went with this. We are planning a KDRB and considering Plantation Homes as a builder. I’m aware that after the demolition another soil test…
