And when we start paying for them? Our sales consultant mentioned there was something like 1 TV point, 2 phone & 2 data points standard (included for free) but when we requested more he has charged us for all of them. Queried him & got a kind of brushed off answer. I know the NBN basic package includes 1 ph & 1 data point but DFHs claims this must be in the garage. We are building the Macedon. From what I can see, we have 2x double power points in bedrooms 2,3,4, living, family, theatre, study, 3 doubles in the master. Single double points in the bathroom, ensuite, meals, alfresco, kitchen, butlers, island bench. We have added a few more and I think it was around $60 per double. There are two TV points and I think there is only one data point and phone point included as standard. And I think we were told that yes, the data point is in the garage but we can have it moved - not sure whether that was at a cost though. Don't let them brush you off - you are the customer and this is your home and a huge investment. Make sure you clarify everything! And if possible email as opposed to phone/ face to face so there is a trail so there can be no disputes down the track. Good luck! I should add that the Macedon is part of the Inspirations range - not sure what the difference it is to Aspirations in terms of their electrical allowances. Which Macedon are you building? We have been 15 months in ours!! Love it do much but wish we did WIR for the kids rooms.. Re: Building with Dennis Family Homes 575Oct 11, 2017 12:09 am No news from DFH for me. Still waiting for the contract to come back after a final fix to the bathroom tiles, which were slightly wrong in the final contract. Been a couple of weeks, but not too stressed as we are not in a rush. Went to our block today, just to see if there was anything wrong or anything need doing. Never is as it's just outside a country town and backs onto the forest, so it's dead quiet there and my future neighbour mows the block with his ride on. So nice of him. However... I park on the back half of the block and as I walk over to look at where I'm going to plant more natives on the rear boundary to the forest. A brown snake pops its head up at the neighbors rear paving and then another does the same further back on their lawn. Great, I was in thongs and shorts. The closest one saw me and took off into the forest though. Followed it til it was out of sight and lost the other, so went and let the neighbours know that they had visitors. Gotta love living in the country. Heh, heh.... Re: Building with Dennis Family Homes 576Oct 20, 2017 4:29 pm Update!! The council said yes tto the dispensation and we have been given the green light to proceed! Yippee! Permit for tree removal done and received, power pit appication completed - now waiting. Demolition scheduled for early in the New Year. In the meantime, trying to declutter and pack everything up and look for a rental is in progress. So much to do!! A wee bit stressed but how exciting to be beginning. And amongst all the other things, I am going to start a blog now htat we are on the way. I will post the link once I work out how! LOL Re: Building with Dennis Family Homes 577Oct 21, 2017 11:44 am Good stuff! Sounds great! Will be reading the blog and keeping up on your progress. Re: Building with Dennis Family Homes 578Oct 22, 2017 7:22 am Nice one Lenz, we have had a bit of an issue recently. Our Sales Consultant didn't understand the procedure in requiring a planning permit to remove trees from our block prior to obtaining a build permit, which I find absolutely astounding. On top of that they pushed our contract back another month too!! Anyway, we are just about to get an Aborist report and submit details for the planning permit, so hopefully not too many hold ups there....Can I ask all of you, did you sign the contract before or after the build permit is received? Re: Building with Dennis Family Homes 579Oct 26, 2017 8:59 pm Hi everyone, We too are building with the DF. I am so nervous... We have been to the colour selection and should have the plants finilised by mid November. At what stage do we hear about Council approval? We are building the Alexandra 293. Can't wait. Hi Mathjic, We haven't heard anything about the permit yet and I am not sure what comes first to be honest. In fact, I am assuming the permits are organised by the builder and in this case we would only sign a contract after permits were given but I really have no idea. Would love to hear from the others with more experience.
