We are building project. While there were additional charges for downlights slightly above cost price this also includes the electrician to install them. We have managed to upgrade everything in our house or stone benches throughout with island bench thicker stone, upgraded tiles, feature walls etc etc and we got this for 1000-1100 per metre. If we went to a customer build we were quoted 1200-1400 a metre minimum. We got a few things done ourselves eg carpet but we went to the same supplier our builder uses and they gave us the same price they charge the builder minus their mark up. We were able to customise as much as we liked. That said, some project builds aren't very flexible so you have to look around.
