Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4924Sep 26, 2017 9:48 pm We would like to ask for anyone’s help. Homebuyers does not give attention to any of the rectifications needed for our build. What can we do? The rectifications are essential for the safety of our family. Homebuyers keeps on moving to the next stage, ignoring us, ignoring the reports. We already have almost 50 pages of rectifications needed but no advice from HBC at all. It’s frustrating and heartbreaking to be ignored while you pour out your life savings thinking that these people will care about you and your family, your safety and getting your family’s money’s worth. 😔😢 Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4925Sep 28, 2017 10:15 am LittleGreenTarneit We would like to ask for anyone’s help. Have you brought the issue up with your Client Liason Coordinator? If you're not getting satisfaction with them I would probably go with the following. - Raise it with your CLC's manager, the email address should be in your CLC's signature - Put in a written request to your CLC to have a new SS assigned to your job I would say you'd be able to sight lack of quality, no commitment to providing a quality build - If your CLC is also not responsive, request that you also be assigned a new CLC. - Have your building inspectors provided any assistance, or ideas on how to get the rectifications to happen? - HBC really HATE negative feedback on productreviews.com.au, in this day and age, don't be afraid of a bit of public naming and shaming - If all else fails, you can go the nuclear option, don't pay the next stage payment until you're satisfied that the fixes have been put in place. Also contact your bank and discuss the issue. I know when we first settled on our loan one of the questions I asked the bank was where they stood on using non-payment of a stage claim as leverage if things go pear-shaped. They told me that if we're not happy that the product being turned out by the builder isn't acceptable, provide written details to the bank when they send through the payment authority that the stage is not complete and attach any proof, such as the report from your inspector, especially if it has outstanding items. At the end of the day, the bank wants a high-quality asset on its books in the event that you default on your loan and they repossess. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4926Sep 28, 2017 11:16 am We have raised it to the manager and awaiting a response. We are not counting on it, though, in all honesty. We will request for a new SS and CLC if we hear nothing again this week. The building inspector provided detailed ways on how to fix the defects, even including illustrations and the sections of the Australian building code that HBC is defying. HBC asks for payments even before a stage is complete. Has anyone experienced this? They threaten with penalties if not paid right away. We are just so upset and feel unimportant, discriminated even, with how we are being ignored. They seem to not treat us like people. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4928Oct 05, 2017 8:22 pm Anna 10 Hi I need to have a TV antenna installed. For those who have, what price range is the normal??. I have had 3 completely different quotes Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4929Oct 05, 2017 8:59 pm I have had 200, 290 and 350. So I have no idea what the standard price is. And I was told that you need to be careful of quotes too low as it may mean a poor quality antenna....so what's low? Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4936Oct 15, 2017 8:29 pm The manager had to ask our SS to call us to set up a meeting. In the meeting, our SS A_ , offered that he will be the one to inspect our property and not our current independent inspector to make it “easy.” We declined of course. The SS also said that the time when the house will be finished will depend on us, if we don’t find any problems. Can you believe it? I think the time and date the house will be finished depends on him, if he does his job correctly! I really hate this service brought about by Homebuyers. I feel so insulted, belittled. I would be requesting and requiring that HBC replace your current SS immediately. The response from your current SS is reprehensible. He clearly has no interest in his job nor any professional credibility Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4938Oct 23, 2017 4:17 pm Hi everyone....I just wanted to ask anyone who has built the Jasper17 what air conditioner have you bought? As it seems some are too long in width and won't fit in the main area. And if 5KW is enough for the space or whether I need to go higher in kW. Getting real close now. What i wish i done differently with this was extended the driveway so it wasnt diagonal. Will either get it done or will put gravel/stones so theres more room for the cars. Facade - Fenton Exterior - Marble Hi, is this the same as the Fenton 2.0 facade? We chose that facade in marble Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 4940Oct 25, 2017 9:18 pm Seeing the issues above have me worried due to our service so far. We finally settled the other day after having settlement delayed over a month. We had resolve legal do our conveyancing as we thought it was part of the house and land package (which it wasn't). We almost had our settlement fall through because even though the settlement was delayed, they still waited until last minute. I have to give props to my mortgage broker as she rode them making sure that everything was sorted. They just sent me a form asking what we thought of their service. They won't like our answers.
