There's always a small tolerance on the edges that will get covered up by the silicone, so it doesn't really have anything to do with the tiler. It should all look fine once all the corners and edges are sealed up with silicone and this doesn't normally happen till right at the end. The lack of planning to ensure even (or as even as possible) around the edges of the bathroom and the inconsistent width / out of square base it what really needs to be rectified.
