How long to building permits usually take Ribbox?
Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Arden - Votivo 43 64Sep 01, 2017 9:15 am Ribbox - we'll have our fingers crossed for you that it comes through quickly! Ezza - Were doing KDR. Signed contracts at the start of May, our tenants moved out at the start of June. unforunately for us it took the maximum time for the gas Abolishment (the full 20 working days!) and we had stupidly relied on Arden's advice with our dispensation (lesson learned!) which has held up everything significantly. Thankfully approved now, but everything else feels like it's taking forever. We have been waiting 3 weeks now for any news re building permit approval and final paperwork to sign off (apparently we need to sign off on all our plans, electrical and colours again) before we can book in for a site start. We're finding they're being extremely vague about exact timings from here which is incredibly frustrating. No idea about timeframes but if it takes the full 20 days for abolishment we are going to be overseas when they demo the house Re: Arden - Votivo 43 67Sep 01, 2017 10:59 am Ezza78 katgalle Ribbox, Ezza - have you been given any indication of timings from here? Arden - Votivo 43 70Sep 04, 2017 3:43 pm Newbie76 I'm looking forward to following your build! Great inspiration for our Hamptons Inspired build in WA! We are still at planning stage tho. Thanks Newbie76, what are you building? We are about to demo house so hopefully some progress soon! Here's an Birdseye view if our ground floor plan, it's not done by our builder so not perfect (missing the cabinets in laundry and pantry) and we would put dininv table in diff position to create living/dining but gives an idea. Today our gas meter got abolished, it was the final piece of the puzzle, electric is abolished Friday which means we will be in the country when they demolish our house! Phew, that was close..... Happy days. Re: Arden - Votivo 43 72Sep 05, 2017 6:23 pm Ezza78 Never been so excited to have some taken away! We finally had an update - they are planning for us to have all our paperwork signed off (again!) prior to 13th and ten fingers crossed we can get booked in for a site start ahead of end of month...already been waiting 3 weeks now since dispensation approval so fingers crossed so smooth & swift from here on in 🤞 Re: Arden - Votivo 43 74Sep 05, 2017 7:49 pm Fingers crossed for you too Katgalle! What area r u building in again? (Sorry my memory is terrible at the moment). Not sure when we will see final plans. I think after demo? When did you demo your place? Gosh that's exciting! We just wanted to be in the county for the demo. Not sure when they will start the build, prob next month if all goes to plan! Re: Arden - Votivo 43 75Sep 08, 2017 12:09 pm Ezza78 sweetpotato Hi Ezza, my family is considering of building with Arden as well and is doing a brief calculating to see our final budget is before we go and talk to them. Can I please ask how much did they charge you to add the alfresco? Love you floor plan and might do the same as your ground floor powder. Good luck with the build! I will follow your post for ref! Hi sweet potatoe, Welcome! It's a bit hard to give exact price for alfresco as the roof line for alfresco was calculated with the total square meter of house eg. Credit for removing rumpus and cutting off 80cm from ground and first floors, the adding on the extra to extend roofline along full length if house. But the actual timber decking is about $9k. Hope helps, the sales person can give an approx calculation for roofline. Happy to answer any questions. PM too if you prefer. Good luck! Thanks Ezza for the reply. We have movement on the permit today the setback in the area we are building is 9 meter, at the front of the house we have a nib, that extends into this setback by 180mm...... it is only 300mm wide. So we are having it removed. So now we should not have any blocks on the permit.
