Totally understand the feeling of wanting to get everything done asap - although the best thing we did one weekend after we moved in, was no house stuff! We just relaxed and enjoyed the place Build thread http://tinyurl.com/llgc7yk Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Move in :DD 2196Aug 22, 2017 3:13 pm Dawn, that must seriously be the fastest landscaping in history! I've been following your build and your frustration with how slow everything went but I love how you've moved in and just said - right time for my speed! Great work I can relate a little to your build, we are staying with my mum and grandad with our 3 kids, dog, 2 indoor cats, 1 free range bunny and chickens we're 9 months in, slab just poured and everyone needs their own space!!! I'm looking forward to seeing your cat run Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Move in :DD 2197Aug 22, 2017 6:41 pm Peach72 Hi there Dawn! I am a newbie (about to start our own build)...but have been lurking for a while, following yours (yes, I may have read through everything on both your threads). For what it is worth, I think you have been amazingly patient and have done a truly awesome job keeping it all together through the process! Your home is looking brilliant, and I hope you have many years of enjoyment living there Wow, you poor thing reading through all that drivel XD That's commitment! I hope something in my long long journey has been of use to you on your own. Congrats on starting your own build journey. D (though I must admit I will never do it again). Thank you for your kind words. It has been a long process, but I'm hoping I will start enjoying the house soon enough, rather than enduring it. We just relaxed and enjoyed the place This sounds nice! I didn't really get the luxury, my dad basically decided for me that landscaping was going to happen ASAP. I can't complain though, since they are doing most of the work and organising everybody and everything.. I do like having turf already Been sneakily letting the kitties out to play in the backyard for half an hour when I get home... I'm looking forward to seeing your cat run XD Haha.. like I said to BB7, it is really my dad driving it all. As much as I want it done I can't handle much of anything right now.. I had all these big plans to have the house fully organised by now.. but I can't face it.. haven't even cooked/eaten any food here yet. But soon enough. I am glad things are getting done though, I just want to focus on something in my life OTHER than this stupid house, after 3years now I'm a bit over it You definitely need space! I thought I was cramped D (although funnily enough my dad is now hinting that I should rent the house out and move back home with all my pets XD) Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Move in :DD 2200Aug 22, 2017 6:50 pm Thanks everyone. I can't believe I've only been in the house for about 8 days, it feels a LOT longer. I have a family friend coming to measure up for screen doors on the weekend (Thanks Dad!!), no idea how I'm suppose to be paying for it. Also finally got the back fence invoice, but I told them I won't pay till they come fix the broken railing. Very much looking forward having the outside landscaping done this weekend and the cat run up (my poor kitties!!). Paving and planting this weekend.. and then some normalcy, have a baby shower on Sunday D and might be able to make it to IKEA but we shall see.. I think I want to make a list of everything I want for each room (Decoratively speaking). I can't really decide what accent colours I should focus on, any suggestions? I do like blue.. but light, dark, teal? And then should I have two colours.. maybe a yellow, or pink? I feel like my house needs a LOT of colour, its very bland.. I work with owner, he/she is my man on the ground and I instruct them when to visit the site and take photos and I have other tools in the bag. 4 15020 I am in the same situation, would you be able to give some insights in to this? I am in SA 8 16962 Depends what you're current inclusions are, but we're not including wardrobes and will just use second hand ones until we can save later on to get them built. Also have a… 3 11547 |
