The neighbours one is noisy too when it kicks in Building a Fairmont Custom in Seaford Meadows Our Build Thread Re: Fairmont Homes - Seaford Meadows SA - Moving!! 342May 07, 2017 9:13 am How is it all going? I was walking by and saw that the pavers in the driveway gap had been 'put down' but not laid... was that so you can use your drive? What is the council doing? (Another oxy-moron, brought to you by the council 'doings' dept.) Re: Fairmont Homes - Seaford Meadows SA - Moving!! 343May 07, 2017 9:39 am The council did the flat part of the driveway crossover, but won't do the remaining bit because of maximum angle of 2.5 degrees. So i just took some pavers and threw them in there so we could get the car in and out. I was wondering if they would take them back or anything, and if they don't then I will re-lay them properly Building a Fairmont Custom in Seaford Meadows Our Build Thread Re: Fairmont Homes - Seaford Meadows SA - Moving!! 344May 07, 2017 9:41 am I'm sort of doing landscaping stuff like retaining walls and fences (or at least I was preparing for it), but I managed to hurt myself last weekend. I think I tore a muscle in my ribs area and it has been a very uncomfortable week. When I get a bit more mobile, I shall resume Building a Fairmont Custom in Seaford Meadows Our Build Thread Re: Fairmont Homes - Seaford Meadows SA - Moving!! 345May 07, 2017 10:32 am Ouch! Hope you're ok... nothing like a muscle tear to remind yourself you're alive! So, even though it's council land, they're prepared to leave it looking like crap (and a dangerous walking surface for all) because of the slope? I'd be talking lawyers, at that point, especially if you or your family tripped and were hurt.... but they wouldn't let you concrete it? Cutting off their noses to spite their faces - AGAIN! You should email the mayor personally, about that one! And say that you will sue her and the head of department for the footpath/driveway things personally, for any injury or damaged to yourselves or your property for their negligence, if they won't finish it correctly and safely. Shouldn't be at your expense, either. They're quick enough to take action against residents over safety issues, and perceived nuisances. Run it up the flagpole, and see who salutes, anyway. They might come to the party. You could try Chris Picton, after that, if no joy. Re: Fairmont Homes - Seaford Meadows SA - Moving!! 346May 07, 2017 11:11 am Oh I wondered why they hadn't finished the job, that seems so petty! Did they get their ruler out to measure it? Lol We were trying to work out where the path will be going on our road, just so we have some idea of what to do with the silly little bit of garden we'll be left with Re: Fairmont Homes - Seaford Meadows SA - Moving!! 347May 07, 2017 11:20 am To be honest, I knew it was off because the concreters didn't listen to me and concreted 100mm above my string line instead of finishing the level at the string line. Too late now, not much you can do about it. Council suggested we re-lay the concrete driveway to the correct level. With the exposed aggregate its pretty likely that we wouldn't get the same blend again and it would show. As it is now, our car just clears the extreme angle by about 1cm. The next door neighbours is the exact same thing. My paver repaved mine I hope they don't wreck it. Your mix looks really good too Re: Fairmont Homes - Seaford Meadows SA - Moving!! 349May 07, 2017 3:02 pm What a bluddy nuisance! Sorry that happened to you - incompetence passes everywhere! Now reconsidering Panorama, if they can't even get the level right! Re: Fairmont Homes - Seaford Meadows SA - Moving!! 350May 07, 2017 8:53 pm It's still hard to not recommend them, as this was the only real issue I had with it.
