I know this is an older post, but maybe, like me, someone is looking for opinions. Bought mine just over 12 months ago - it turns off when it thinks it is overheating so temperature fluctuates all the time. I was super aware of scratching it and was diligent in using the RIGHT products for cleaning and sealing, BUT it still scratched and I have regretted the decision almost from day 1. The child-lock must be held down for 5 seconds before it will turn on - drove me nuts, so I disabled it. There is a chip out of the centre back glass at the edge - how that would happen is a mystery...we didn't have the option of gas but I would NEVER do ceramic again. It looks lovely and streamlined, but SO impractical. Stir-fries always end up boiled vegetables because it never gets hot enough. Good luck with yours - maybe mine was just a dud.
