What is the best way to combine vynil floors with the wall tiles colour wise? Also, skirting boards won't be needed, so walls can be tiled right from the floor surface? Can vynil be also used for a shower base? Re: I work in flooring - do you have a flooring question? 565Aug 13, 2017 4:28 pm Hi alexp79, Wall to floor colour, that will depend on your colour scheme. Correct, vinyl butts up against the skirting or wall tile. Neat. NO!! Vinyl can not go on the shower base. I'm going to put down laminate on a very small budget. I have managed to pick the same one twice in two different stores - Preference Oakleaf in Aspen Oak. However I can't seem to find many reviews of this brand online, do you have any thoughts or experiences with Preference Oakleaf? Who knows.... We are looking at putting laminate upstairs in 3 bedrooms and a living area, as well as on the stairs. We also want 12mm if possible with a waterproof version. Hi there Adelaide Girl, I prefer Quickstep.... but that's just my opinion. 12mm is the best way to go with any floating floor, less drum when you walk on it with heals. Also, because you are looking to do it upstairs, upgrade your underlay so it helps to keep that drum down from underneath.
