Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Statesman Felixstow Alfresco build in Two Wells, SA 23Jul 27, 2017 12:47 pm Our frame was put up on Monday 24 July 2017. They started at 7am, had STACKS of guys working out there and finished that day too. So happy - haven't gone for a walk through as yet, as we didn't get a chance on Monday when the trades were there, and haven't been back since. So exciting!! Feels surreal. Love the stacker door at the side of the house. Just want to see it all come together already! The last photo is of my sister's footings being dug, and my house in the background . Pics to come. Went for our first walk through of the house and so very excited. Love the placement of it on the land and what we will have as views, seeing where things look out to etc. Feels so much more real now Re: Statesman Felixstow Alfresco build in Two Wells, SA 26Jul 29, 2017 3:22 pm nicoledee Lintel (I think it's called) added today above the stacker door frame. I've been following your thread so thought that I should say hi We went through the Felixstow display in Mount Barker and it was my favourite display - we would have built it except we wanted an extra living area. I love your selections - we are having the muscat grey brick on our facade - it is a beautiful colour! Good luck with the build Re: Statesman Felixstow Alfresco build in Two Wells, SA 29Jul 29, 2017 9:34 pm Thanks buildingnanna!!! It definitely surprised us as we picked our frontage out of the book.. After having the luxury of seeing everything else on display it was quite a pleasant surprise!! Awesome bubbles_family!! What design did you end up choosing? We fell in love with it straight away.. We don't have kids just yet but decided to go without the extra living area as we will have plenty of bedrooms and a massive backyard as we are on 1000sqm, so we have that luxury too Re: Statesman Felixstow Alfresco build in Two Wells, SA 30Jul 30, 2017 9:15 am We ended up going with a custom design with Fairmont. With three kids, we need that extra living space (which a huge upgrade for us!). We used parts of the Felixstow though. I love the ensuite, and we used the design of the laundry on the back of the garage - it will be our mudroom I love the desk space in the kitchen and this is something we'll add post handover. Re: Statesman Felixstow Alfresco build in Two Wells, SA 31Aug 12, 2017 8:46 pm Our roof was completed yesterday (11 August).. Very happy with our colour choice (Colorbond Wallaby, for anyone wondering!) We went out there today to have a look and are in love. We were also pleasantly surprised to see that our stacker door had gone in! We are so relieved that we made the decision to make this addition to our plans instead of the standard (which is three individual sliding doors with one fixed & one operable panel). Our other windows went in on the 9th August.. Absolutely stoked with how quickly it is progressing!! We haven't pushed the builder once as we aren't stressing about time frames at all.. So pretty impressed with how it's all coming along! We also visited the showroom we are getting our flooring from today and made (hopefully) our final choice. After a lot of thinking about our choice so far, we decided to change our mind... I'm glad that nothing was set in stone and we had the ability to change it!! For now, our choice is Quick Step classic oak brown. Not sure if it's completed or not as these photos were sent to me by my mum . No bricks just yet, just the lining. They have also blocked off the front door Hoping that there is no issues with rain etc that is expected over the next few days.. Ceiling insulation seems to be tied in, but wall insulation doesn't look to be. We shall see! Bricks started today, 21 August. So exciting!! Rooms look huge. Didn't take a whole lot of gyprock photos but my lovely neighbour sent some brick photos for me.. So happy with the colour!! Flooring colour potentially changed again... Haha Thats all the updates so far this week and it's only Monday Photos as follows: Bricking started at rear of house, Garage gyprock, Dining area with stacker, Lounge area, Hallway entry and pantry, Our roof looking a totally different colour again (love how wallaby changes colour!! It's like a mood roof haha), Our shower niche - in hindsight i really wish we made this bigger, but it will help us keep things neat and tidy Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Statesman Felixstow Alfresco build in Two Wells, SA 36Aug 22, 2017 12:37 am Moving along nicely the bricks look beautiful! I definitely prefer them with the natural mortar. It gives them a lovely soft look. I think your shower niche looks perfectly proportionate to the wall - besides it just means you'll have to limit the clutter, which is always a good thing Re: Statesman Felixstow Alfresco build in Two Wells, SA 37Aug 22, 2017 9:09 am Thanks lovisa! I love it, I'm sure you will too! We still haven't seen it in person, but I just love the bricks and have stalked a lot of houses with those bricks haha!! Thanks bubbles_family... I LOVE them with the natural mortar - this was something I was actually losing sleep over (LOL) because I was wondering whether we should have gone a white mortar, but now that I see it I am SO glad we went the natural mortar. Soft looking is the perfect way to describe it. Thanks for making me feel better about the shower niche... Once we are in I won't think twice about it haha.. Definitely means we have to limit clutter, which is how I like to operate! Plus, we will have storage in our bathroom which we never had in our old rental so we won't know ourselves!! Re: Statesman Felixstow Alfresco build in Two Wells, SA 38Aug 23, 2017 11:20 pm Loving your bricks! If I didn't go the traditional red brick look I definitely would have wanted what you picked. Your builds seem to be moving at a very similar pace. Have they given you an ETA on handover yet? Good luck, it will all be over before you know it! Re: Statesman Felixstow Alfresco build in Two Wells, SA 39Aug 24, 2017 2:42 pm Thanks alysanne!! I love them too - Ckfd has the same, except he has white mortar They are moving at a similar pace, it's exciting hehe. No ETA as yet, apparently they can't provide a date until the kitchen is in, but we are in no rush! I know, it really feels like it's going so quickly too - I am sooo excited for it to be finished!!! Re: Statesman Felixstow Alfresco build in Two Wells, SA 40Aug 24, 2017 10:37 pm Your pics look great! Love your roof colour. I wanted Wallaby my hubby wanted Monument so we settled on woodland grey haha. You seem to only be a week or so behind us so hopefully you get handover shortly after we do. After so many hold ups it seems like the build process is absolutely flying!! Hi, We're building a double-storey in Perth and I'm undecided with the kitchen sink situation. I'm set on having the main sink with dishwasher in the scullery - and… 0 20895 2 2963 there is a few calculators you can use if you just google it 7 7536 |
