Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building Simonds palisade with 16m frontage study upgrad 21Jul 15, 2017 1:30 pm So my builder contacted me today to say the Australian standards had changed re termite protection I have no idea about termites or what I should do these were my options Option 1) FRONT OF BUILDING ONLY $150 Where the builder is providing a front driveway/garage ramp and entrance pathway a Termguard Re-Treatment System will be required to be installed underneath the concreted areas. To ensure that none of these areas are missed, the Termgaurd system will be installed across the entire front of the building including any freestanding brick piers on concrete pads. If the piers are on the front porch slab (part of the house slab) then the re-treatment system around the slab edge will protect the pier. We will provide Re-treatment system to the front of the dwelling only in lieu of standard Part B treatment system. This system would require retreatment every 2 years to the front of the dwelling in the form of a chemical top up to the reticulated refill points and a retreatment of the remaining permitter every 12months in the form of a chemical hand spray to the permitter of your slab. Option 2) AROUND PERIMETER OF BUILDING – BUILDERS PREFERED CHOICE $680 Should you choose this option Simonds will provide a reticulated perimeter termite protection treatment in lieu of hand spray perimeter termite protection. This is our preferred system with a reticulated refillable termite supply around the entire perimeter of the home and will look the same as the picture below. This system only requires re-treatment every 2 years in the form of a chemical top up to the reticulated refill points Re: Building Simonds palisade with 16m frontage study upgrad 22Jul 15, 2017 4:26 pm Option 2. It's scary what those critters can do to a home, we have full perimeter Re: Building Simonds palisade with 16m frontage study upgrad 23Jul 19, 2017 7:47 pm Been visiting the house twice daily to see if we can get a peak in but everyday there's a contractor from 7am to 5 which is great but I'm dying to get on site I hate annoying them so drive bys it is at least until tomorrow when we have decided we're going in want to check the windows and roofing we also decided to go the cheaper option for termites did a lot of reading and seems it's the better suited option for us especially with my turtle enclosure House is looking great coming along nice and quick too Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Building Simonds palisade with 16m frontage study upgrad 25Jul 20, 2017 9:24 am the house is looking really good!
