Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building at Catherine Park 124Jul 17, 2017 8:08 pm Definitely looks a different colour to me too. Lot 2066 Law Cres in Catherine Park Estate Re: Building at Catherine Park 125Jul 19, 2017 8:14 am Looks different. but the bottom row of bricks stayed darker on ours for some time. A friend of mine said hers was the same and she was told it was something to do with the termite system? It's so hard to tell when they are part way through but you don't want to wait until it's too late to easily fix either. It's tricky. Our top bricks were cleaned yesterday, can't wait to see what they look like now as there were some colour inconsistencies that we are hoping aren't as obvious. But we had bricks that did have slightly different tones to them majestic35.weebly.com Re: Building at Catherine Park 126Jul 19, 2017 9:07 am According to the bricky it's damp coming up from the ground, but not going further up because of the damp course which is directly above Re: Building at Catherine Park 127Aug 07, 2017 3:44 pm Glad to see your brickwork is progressing joannapaulp. Looking good! Our plans have finally made it to the developer today. Yippee hahaha Lots of progress in Law Cres now. Rosie & Raj next door are ready for fencing, and we have also been contacted by Norm behind us. Its becoming a real neighbourhood 😀 Lot 2066 Law Cres in Catherine Park Estate Re: Building at Catherine Park 128Aug 08, 2017 7:10 am Hey guys, just wondering what everyone's experience has been with DA and construction certificate. Does the CC get lodged at the same time as DA or does it get lodged for approval after DA? Also how long after DA approval does it take to get a CC? Re: Building at Catherine Park 129Aug 08, 2017 5:35 pm No idea as we have not got that far yet. Hopefully one of the others will be able to shed some light on that process... Lot 2066 Law Cres in Catherine Park Estate Re: Building at Catherine Park 131Aug 18, 2017 10:47 am We are still awaiting CDC submission. Its all such a lengthy process. Like watching the grass grow lol Good to hear yours is coming along, must be very exciting. We are overseas at the moment - having Catherine Park withdrawals hahaha Lot 2066 Law Cres in Catherine Park Estate Re: Building at Catherine Park 132Aug 18, 2017 11:12 am We're down there every second day at the moment, bricking is basically finished (at last - don't ask), roofing is going on, electrical rough-in and eaves and brick clean next week Re: Building at Catherine Park 133Aug 18, 2017 2:42 pm We are still ages away. We have officially changed builders (now using Mcdonald Jones) and have our first colour selection appointment next week. Fingers crossed we can break ground this side of Christmas.... Re: Building at Catherine Park 135Aug 18, 2017 3:42 pm joannapaulp Any news on when land is going to register? All of stage 3 has registered as far as I am aware. We settled on the 1st of August 😊 Any update on how people's bank valuations went for their construction loans? Has anyone had any shortfalls yet? Re: Building at Catherine Park 136Aug 18, 2017 6:00 pm We've got gyprock and door frames according to hubby! So excited to have a look at it looking like s house! joannapaulp bricking was an awful process for us too. You should move really quickly now. Fingers crossed pinnyanddee at least on holidays you can forget about it all for a bit, hopefully will make it go quicker bugslife why the change? I've heard good things about mj though and I do love their displays. Bank didn't do valuation for us as we paid cash for the land and only had loan on house so no help there in afraid majestic35.weebly.com Re: Building at Catherine Park 137Aug 18, 2017 6:34 pm Rocchet We had a list of issues unfortunately. The bottom line is we changed as we had a really poor experience once we put down the initial deposit. I've heard of other people having good experiences with them but we found the opposite 😓 With that being said we're having a really good experience with MDJ and their pricing is suprisingly very competitive even when you take into account that they don't offer flooring as a standard inclusion! Re: Building at Catherine Park 138Aug 28, 2017 10:20 am Lots happening in Law cres over the last week. Our bricking finally finished and then got cleaned, we got our roof on, and materials delivered for our eaves. Oh, and we got rendered as well. Looks like lots 2065 & 2071 got pegged out as well - everything is certainly moving along now. Re: Building at Catherine Park 139Aug 28, 2017 10:22 am Oh, and the different colour brick issue was due to moisture, as the brickies had been hosing out the cavity behind the bricks to clean it out, there was a lot of water in the bottom course - has sorted itself out now though Re: Building at Catherine Park 140Aug 29, 2017 7:26 am Glad to hear the brick issue resolved itself. We are awaiting CDC approval now, champing at the bit as you can imagine! Hope they take the fence down soon between Stages 2 & 3. Beats me why it is still in place considering Stage 3 is all registered....? Lot 2066 Law Cres in Catherine Park Estate I do enjoy the drama:-D In his latest two videos he has started bringing security guards to site, I am waiting for the punch on to begin lol 6 46085 |
