Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Hallbury Homes in Moorabbin 21Mar 30, 2017 8:12 am We are looking to build with Hallbury Homes and are at the consultation stage atm. I was wondering what price they quoted you for your facade, including any features. I cant seem to find any photos of their standard facades. Do you have a picture of your facade drawing? Any information would be helpful. Your build looks to be going at a good pace Re: Building with Hallbury Homes in Moorabbin 22Apr 14, 2017 1:43 pm There are no set prices for facades. We added a balcony which was about 10k. Then depending on render or features get priced separately... It's is custom facade that we designed, so each item got priced separately. How thst helps! Re: Building with Hallbury Homes in Moorabbin 24May 02, 2017 8:24 am And we are at lockup! Very fast progress past 2 weeks. Bricking finished, all windows are in, 2nd floor clsdding done snd 1st coat render, electrics arr nearly done. Next week internals begin! Re: Building with Hallbury Homes in Moorabbin 27May 15, 2017 9:20 am The Face shots... The house is being locked up now, so not likely to get many shots of the inside from now on. This week: stair case is coming, cabinetry, and carpentry fix (not sure what that means....) If they keep up this pace, we are likely to see completion in 2-3 months Re: Building with Hallbury Homes in Moorabbin 28May 19, 2017 1:14 pm Great build. I only discovered this tread recently. How many squares is your house in the end with the garage extension and modifications? How much was the final contracted house price without flooring and appliances? It appears you are building at the end of a court? Is that right? I'm doing a KDR at the end of the court at the moment (framing being done) and wondering what you were thinking for front fence options? Does your frontage curve slightly (mine does), Re: Building with Hallbury Homes in Moorabbin 29May 19, 2017 2:20 pm Hey. The whole house came in around 41squares, for a total of 470k. Yes we are in the bowl of a court, and have absolutely no idea what to do for the fence or gates!! I am planning on going for a drive to some courts to get some ideas... Re: Building with Hallbury Homes in Moorabbin 30May 19, 2017 2:30 pm Thanks. Does the $470 include cooling or are you doing that after handover? Did you double glaze windows? What insulation are you putting between floors? Are you doing insulation between internal walls? Mine is exactly the same, bowl of a court with a 13.5m frontage and joint crossover with the neighbour. I'm considering an aluminium or steel picket fence (with slightly curved brackets on the posts), 1.2m high, and a sliding gate. My concern with the sliding gate at the end of court is the gate track (and concreting( needs to eat into the front garden on the curve which isn't ideal. I'm also trying to get my front fence done (with electric gate) for around $8k which I'm sure is achievable yet. Re: Building with Hallbury Homes in Moorabbin 31May 19, 2017 3:32 pm No cooling. Upgraded wall insulation to 2.5R, ceiling to 6R, put soundproof insulation between floors. (all up around 3-4k). No internal wall insulation, may be should have.... I thought about the sliding gate, but like you said, it will not work in a court. I am considering bi-fold gates, instead of 2 halfs, each half folds as well. I recently heard prices of around 5k for gates, and 2k for automation. I haven't made any enquirers, but if those prices are average, than your budget, and my budget (10k for gates/fence), will not be enough... Re: Building with Hallbury Homes in Moorabbin 32May 20, 2017 9:57 am Managed to sneak in this morning, and take some internal photos.

Managed to sneak in, and take some pictures. Internal painting has begun!!! Some areas I noticed small defects in plaster/timbers, but so far attention to details has been good. So expect these little things will be fixed up during the painting process. It is looking great. I will closely monitor your updates from here on. I am also one of the client with Hallbury homes. We are building in Harcrest estate in Wantirna South. Hallbury will the first builder to build in that estate among 900 houses in that estate. which I am excited and always I wanted a unique architecture house which will suite our needs. In this estate relatively all the blocks are small. Mine is 378sq block. Currently I am planning to build 36 square home based on the foot print given by the council. we have purchased our land 24 months ago. still waiting to settle and hope it is not that far away (3 months away). we have signed with our builder Jan 2016. We have selected the Pavilion as a base plan and it has been customised 70%. It is a custom build now. I am expecting total of my build to be 650k including the pool. Once I am closer to the date will start a new thread in regards to my build and keep you posted. Looking forward to seeing your updates and hope I could come and visit your house post handover to see the build quality and your thoughts and tips. I am also a first time builder. Waiting for too too ..long. Thank you Myuran Re: Building with Hallbury Homes in Moorabbin 38Jul 21, 2017 4:50 pm No updates for 6 weeks.... well...because not much has actually happened. The site came to a complete stop about 6 weeks ago, prior to that, excellent progress. We contacted head office to find out why the sudden stop, and were told our site supervisor Geoff is no longer with the company. Following 3-4 weeks, of various excuses why the works are being held up. Finally managed to get a site meet with new supervisor Craig, last Tuesday. He advised us on the which works are about to resume, and we walked through the house. Paint job not very good, he said, a lot of it will get fixed up later. Today, email from the head office, new supervisor .... WTF.... Cliff (one of the directors) will take the house to completion. Personally, I am not that impressed with that. I have dealt with him before, and found him to be un-approachable, and cold. Other supervisor were easier to deal with. No photo to upload, since the house is properly locked up now, and no access. Re: Building with Hallbury Homes in Moorabbin 40Jul 31, 2017 5:34 pm Had an interesting PM from another member from this forum, about Hallbury. Spoke to him on Sunday, and he told me his story about, the delays, and some ongoing issues after the handover. He also suggested an independent inspector for the final inspections (will use one now). I hope everything works out for him. Today we decided to be a lot more firmer with Hallbury, and are demanding a completion date from them this week, as well as fortnightly site meets. The list of small issues are building up: the laundry shoot is still missing (no idea how they are going to put it in now...), shaving cabinets are not done (hole in a wall), lots of loose ends with tiling, painting, fitoff etc. Meeting Cliff this Friday for a site meet, and will take photos too. Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 76116 I would never build with Fowler homes.
