Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Henley Electra 2017/2018 build 23Jul 08, 2017 10:48 pm Hey silver75 , Our Colour Selection took about 6.5hours. Considering I was so organised it still took that look. I would definitely do your homework prior to the Colour Selection Appointment otherwise you may be rushed in getting whatever, if that makes sense. Yeah, I was a bit worried about my children coming. They were great through and Henley didn't mind. Regarding the front door, that was an image they showed me of the front door we wanted stained in the Rich Chocolate. Re: Henley Electra 2017/2018 build 24Jul 09, 2017 4:40 pm Hi earcangel. Was just wondering on the total costs. I got a surprise during Tender when my site costs were revealed. Also, what was the cost for upgrading the kitchen Island and Read benchtops to 40mm? Thanks. The cost for our entire kitchen in 40mm CaesarStone was $1400 ($950 Island and $450 Rear). Are you building with Henley? Just a question regarding your tender. Does the price change much from your initial Sales quote to tender? Re: Henley Electra 2017/2018 build 26Jul 09, 2017 11:09 pm earcangel Hi dreamhomz , Our tender is at the end of July. The stair case storage door is located in the living area which we didn't like, we requested for it to be relocated to the entry side but the only down fall was we would have a door at about 1.5m high. To us it was better that way Cool...How much did you paid extra to move it? Also, wanted to check from you...What kind of flooring you opted for Alfresco and how much is it costing you? All the best for your tender appointment. Re: Henley Electra 2017/2018 build 27Jul 10, 2017 9:06 pm Hi earcangel, It's great that you got a fixed land cost. Yes, I am also building the Electra, in fact you referenced me in the first post of this thread There are a few variances, in particular for customizations that were only guessed during Sales. The biggest difference was in site-costs as I said earlier. We've had our tender appointment and signed our contracts earlier this month (August) and Henley are planning to pour the slab end of this month (August). Yay! Yay! Yay! We have been really happy with every person we have been in contact with so far during this stage. Toni was the gentleman who did our Tender appointment, he was very thorough and covered everything well. Our Administrator is Stephanie, she has been superb. So, we also decided to get our own Personal Building Inspections (Darbecca) to check every stage of our build. It is costing us just under $3,000 but it is definitely worth it for piece of mind. I don't want the contractors cutting corners or not doing things they should be doing. We made a slight change to the window facade of the house. We changed the windows in the Theatre and Study to be the same as the Master Bedroom, it was previously panel windows. Here are some pictures of our land, site plan, house plans and electrical plans. . Re: Henley Electra 2017/2018 build 29Sep 01, 2017 10:55 pm Glad to hear that everything is on track with your build. All the best for the slab.Let us know if Derbacca finds any fault with the slab pour.Did you also opted fro pre slab pour inspection? Also, with regards to window change for study and theatre. Did they showed you during tender how it will actually look ? the panel windows.I have also opted for Clair facade and was wondering if I should change them as well. But not sure how actually they look? We also inspected one under construction Electra house recently and was very happy with the layout. But unfortunately it was Bella facade not the Claire facade so still not very confident with the front look of the house. Re: Henley Electra 2017/2018 build 30Sep 01, 2017 11:49 pm Hey dreamhomz, We have booked Darbecca for the pre slab inspection. We were informed that it is an important inspection to have done. I we pm you with some photos of homes built in the Elle, Adelle and Claire facade. With regards to the Window to study and theatre we got to see them at Tender. I have attached image below. My husband and I have been so impressed 3rd time building with Henley. This has to be our best experience with them so far. There service has been awesome. It is great that you are doing your research because it just gives you peace of mind that you have looked at all options.
