Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Project Sicily / Building in Springlake Mt Barker SA 32Jul 07, 2017 7:38 pm Oh my gosh you definitely need to get a photo of the sunset lights sometime! I'm sure it is completely insta-worthy. (Might have to talk to you about being a spy if we get worried at any point! I'm planning on buttering up my tradies with some homemade biscuits whenever I happen to have a day off to visit/see what's up.) If you can get the dark brick with dark mortar you were thinking, I think that could look absolutely beautiful with the front facade choices of that design. Be very modern but classy. Definitely comes down to the dollar-dollar-bills-ya'll. We just had a big-post contract splurge upgrading the butlers to have an extra turn around (exactly like the bottom cabinets and tiles in the Harcrest display at Aston Hills - though no stone benchtops (I talked the OH down from it, sadly)) and a massive 2340 x 1200 pivot door which I cannot wait to see in person. And then cried in the corner about the $$. But hey, you only build a forever-home once (hopefully)! Re: Project Sicily / Building in Springlake Mt Barker SA 33Jul 09, 2017 8:07 pm Congrats and your selections all look beautiful look forward to see it all coming together! Trying my best to make such a small house look nice baha  JM1911A1 Haha love the biscuit idea! Wow that is one HUGE door. Im crying with you lol. It set me back over $1400 for a nice normal sized timber door - I cant imagine how much yours costs! Soo.. I ended up doing a complete 180 with the facade colours.. Part of the encumbrance is I need timber slats over the portico, and Fairmont only have an orange cedar colour which looked sincerely terrible next to the Cobalt brick. Plus the surprise that charcoal OR white mortar upgrade was $1000+ I ended up with... We were looking at Plateau if we weren't doing Castilo ourselves - such a nice brown brick, very rich in colour and looks GREAT with the wood tone! Re: Project Sicily / Building in Springlake Mt Barker SA 36Nov 17, 2017 6:57 pm ITS FINALLY STARTING! .... and then I get a call that I need to complete retaining walls before they can proceed any further.
