Alpine stone. We are only having it in the bathrooms and laundry. I fell in love with them Oh really, lol. They are nice aren't they. Had to laugh, DH and I pretty much agreed with everything and cruised through gallery except for those tiles. We knew we wanted a light grey with some texture to them. It took us ages to agree on one, lol. He kept picking ones that I thought looked green. Eventually we both liked the Alpine stone but because it's throughout the main living areas it's ended up costing us a bit. I'm still a little concerned about our bathroom and ensuite tiles choice. It now looks very dark. But on gallery day we liked how it all went together and once we have light walls and vanity it should break it up. Re: Building with Simonds - What to expect at contract appt? 13Jun 26, 2017 7:24 pm I was also concerned about dark tiles in the bathroom which is why we changed to the alpine stone. We originally had the standard simonds grey. Are your tiles the "shine" ones? I only came to realise recently how slippery they will be so will have to be careful of that. I didn't see any matte versions at gallery but I think national tiles do have them. Yeah we were purposely steering away from shiny/slippery. I considered changing to the dark grey standard tiles but that would mess up the rest of our choices, lol. Re: Building with Simonds - What to expect at contract appt? 15Jun 27, 2017 7:57 pm We had our contract appointment today and we survived, yay. It took us 1 hour and 45 minutes in total. And wasn't too bad. It did help that we did have a Tender appointment about a month or so ago. So my advice to anyone headed to contract. Read all your info. Know all your plans. Make notes of anything you want to check or ask about and tick them off in the meeting. And as boring as it was, read the draft contract they give you before your appointment. It took me 5 sittings to finish it, lol. It kept putting me to sleep. You talk about deletions, are they variations or PS and PC adjustments? pleas list them 1 16542 I've decided, after a period of confusion (my building broker told me it's probably not worth it to use a lawyer, but others have said it is a must) that I definitely will… 7 27917 |
