Had to have a sit on this couch, I like the colour and style of it. It was pretty comfy too. There was another couch that was like a peacock green that was nice too (bit more pricy and not as comfy). This one comes in two other colours both of which are grey, so not sure if id go for a grey or this colour. I do want to buy an (occasional/wing) chair to sit in the same room, so not sure how it will fit in if I get a blue couch. The chair will be mine, I was thinking pink, purple, colourful. I really like this colour, but I think with my kids.. Its probably best to go a darker colour, grey. I also want to point out that the seats aren't removable! So you can't even flip the cushions... Re: Our new home 186Jul 04, 2017 8:02 pm This waiting game sucks! We were supposed to be signing contract yesterday but the builder is waiting on draughting to return our drawings and then can be sent through for energy rating. Hoping to get things back this Friday, earlier would be nice though! The more I wait the more ideas I have... Re: Our new home 187Jul 04, 2017 8:36 pm Good to see you finally seem to be makimg progress hopefully you see physical progress soon too Our Build Thread - JG king Memphis Re: Our new home 188Jul 04, 2017 8:48 pm Thanks surtees! I am looking forward to seeing some house action! Our back neighbours house is finished and yard is scraped ready for back fencing to go up sometime this week, so thats exciting atleast haha. Re: Our new home 189Jul 09, 2017 9:52 pm Went for a drive to the museum with the boys and their aunty on the weekend and then took a detour on the way home past temple and webster's clearance store and ikea. We also picked up our lay-by from Beacon Lighting. Anyway I got a few ideas for my walk in robe fit out and some laundry ideas. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Thinking of having something like this in the laundry. I like that you can hang a decent amount and it doesn't take up a lot of space (as a free standing rack would or if this was horizontal.). We don't have any overhead cabinetry in the laundry at the moment, so this is something we can do above the sink and washing machine, or we could hang them on the other side on the blank wall and build a cupboard/shelves above the sink. Has anyone got something similar to this in their laundry!? Re: Our new home 190Jul 11, 2017 11:16 pm Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Got our working drawings back today, they were ready last week but we didn't ask for a copy, they were sent through to the company that do energy ratings and we still haven't gotten the rating back so I asked hubby to get the plans for us to look over (and makes me feel like somethings happening). Anyway everything is pretty good however the elevation drawing had the wrong garage door and because they had put the colourings in for the bricks and other features I thought i'd photoshop the garage door change. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Which do you like better? I think the grey is too dark, so we are going with the light. I guess the dark stands out a little more in the picture but that could be my PS skills haha. I have seen the heathwood with the light garage door and its really nice. Do you think the light garage door and front door work with the dark windows? As I've mentioned previously I had a lot of trouble working out the colours for the externals, not so much the colours but where they should go! I don't want my house to look like a clown. Re: Our new home 191Jul 12, 2017 7:36 pm urghhh. So I dont know what the energy rating number is, but I know we have to do something. Options include double glazing complete house, double glaze two south facing windows (the door and meals room, not sure why not the bedroom) and upgrade insulation to R7 instead of R5 or third option possibly remove that south facing meals room window although I dont want to do that and i'm not sure it would achieve much. We got given a rough guide to prices for the first two options and its roughly double the amount to double glaze the whole house. Thoughts on whether double glazing whole house vs double glazing some windows but increasing insulation to entire house?? Re: Our new home 192Jul 12, 2017 7:37 pm I think the lighter garage makes the house look more balanced (if that makes sense), mind you, we are having a dark roof and garage so???!!! It will look great whichever you choose - so hard to tell from a drawing really - B A vue of the pines on the Gold Coast forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=87210 Re: Our new home 193Jul 12, 2017 7:57 pm Bridgetwitch im not sure the problem I have is with the dark roof, but more so that i wanted darker pillars and I don't see them being a feature when they blend into the garage door? Its a real pain because I can always paint the pillars but can't change anything else (except front door of course) Im trying to look into double glazing vs upgrading insulation but haven't found any articles yet that tell me benefits and cons. Re: Our new home 194Jul 13, 2017 8:06 pm Put our issues through, made a decision to fix energy rating, contracts received and taken to bank! Contract signing booked for Monday. Back fence finally started! Had a look in the dark on the way home, the upright posts are in. Didn't get out as it was ranging will have a better look on Saturday during the day. Got the colour selection information as well as I requested a copy, so will upload a few more of our selections shortly Re: Our new home 195Jul 13, 2017 9:28 pm Some more colour selections: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The door handles throughout. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ For the cretement pewter tile we chose 'Charred Ash', we have had light tiles in out last house and they just didn't stay nice, so thought we'd go a slightly darker colour this time round. Its kind of mid grey, wasn't the lightest, wasn't the darkest against the tiles but mostly blended in. For the marble tile we went white, because it blended in better and didn't need a feature grey grout! much to my disgust! The place its going to get the dirtiest the place we use white. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Bath outlet, Im fairly sure i picked the straight out one not the angled one.... I think for the sink taps though they are the same but on an angle however I cant really remember and it doesn't specify. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This is the paint colour used for the trims and doors, Lexicon Half. I've already put the paint colour on but to keep it together with the trim coulour ill put the bigger sample below. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Grey Pebble Half. They actually had it in the show room and I like it because it still looked white to look at the wall but when you look at the edging you could see it was a darker colour. I also didn't really look into it that much else on the day, the lady helping suggested it. Re: Our new home 196Jul 14, 2017 4:08 pm Hey guys, just read your thread and you have been through a lot!! Hopefully it is all smooth sailing for you from now on. I looked at your floorplan with much interest, it is similar to ours, though we changed the theatre into a bedroom and made a large rumpus style room at the back- anyway if you check my thread (in my signature) you will see what I mean. I really like your colours. We did similar to you in a dark roof (but tiled) and monument gutters, downpipes, windows etc. We have Dune fascia to break it up a bit but have a Monument garage door and front door too. Might be worth a look at our pics, so you can how it looks together (at least in that combination) though our bricks are different, we chose Boral Mocha. The front design of the house is very similar to yours too so you could see what it might look finished. Our pillars are light grey, though, not dark like you say. Hope that this helps a bit! Will follow to see how you go Edit: oh sorry, just realised due to changes to photobucket none of the photos on my thread are working. If you wanted you could look at the pics on my blog though. www.tashandpaul.wordpress.com My blog: tashandpaul.wordpress.com Re: Our new home 197Jul 14, 2017 6:28 pm Hi Tash & Paul. Thanks I will definitely have a look at your thread/blog. Thanks for your input Our original plan had a playroom between the kids bedrooms, but we had to change and of the builders plans this was by far our favourite in our price range. I wanted to keep all the kids rooms together, otherwise we could have done a similar thing. I hadn't planned on doing the monument rendered pillers, but hadn't really looked at anything at the time of colour selection. I guess after a few years I can paint it lighter if I get sick of it. I definitely didn't want really light thou as I can see it getting dirty with cobwebs and grass. However when I bought it it was going to go on the wall in the kitchen and now because we have changed our plans i'm not sure where we will hang it! Re: Our new home- Contracts signed! 199Jul 17, 2017 6:23 pm Had our contract signing this afternoon, brought up a few bits and pieces and then signed away wahoo!! SO excited! We are penciled in to start in two weeks and he mentioned may be even onsite to do some marking on the block at the end of next week. eeek Re: Our new home 200Jul 21, 2017 11:03 pm So we got our final final final drawings back... after the few changes/fix ups we had made on contract signing 'day' and they have done this picture with colours and what the house will look like with a garden etc. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ So I think it looks pretty good.
