Browse Forums Building A New House Re: The epic home building race - BABY IS OUT, TIME TO ROUG 203Jun 17, 2017 5:25 pm What a busy week for us and for the house build! Grandma has come to visit, I went back to work after some daddy leave. Baby went to her first doctors checkup. Mum got a child health nurse home visit. Lukie has been busy winning prizes at school. Took grandma and son out to the house today, it was raining! The house is nice and dry though! Oddly... there aren't any temp drain tubes off the gutter holes. Bricks have started and looks amazingly neat! A son and father business locally. Met them late last week and they estimated a two week project for them! We got our six panel stackers! Such a wide 1800mm opening! Don't worry.. the other panels are hiding in our linen closet. 😝 Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Otherwise, internals looks like air con is done, machine not installed yet (first pic), about 1/4-1/3 of gyprock left to do, also ceilings. Also measured out our awesome TV wall in the media room. Need to pick a fridge as well because the cabinet maker needs to finalise his measurements. Dare we dream of a practical completion date soon? The windows were in the original house design so played little part in it. However, I admit when I saw the windows go up first time, it was way beyond what I was expecting (and it is awesome..) Was half worried some of our windows not being floor to ceiling ones - they would look small.. but all the windows are just the right size for what we need. I think our house will definitely have the understated but amazing feel to it. I started this thread highlighting that we had a second child on the way and a massive new house build to go through. She's come out well and healthy and we have a little house rental to manage in, but soon, we will have our spacious home too!
