How much would it cost 15Jun 17, 2017 8:58 am deepugjacob morphjk deepugjacob
We built in an allowance of $10,000 for rock and we ended up blowing out by another $30,000. We knew that they would likely buy rock because of the area but didn't expect that much. Trust me we saw it and it took a solid month to break the rock up. Soil tests only go down a certain depth Good lord !!!!! 40K is too much. I would stop the work straight away as I would not be able to afford that . was there rock in the entire construction area? They found rock in mine only around the drive way . Yep there was. From about a metre down. We had a height covenant that we had to stay under. That pile isn't even all of it Woah!!!! What did I just see. That is a huge cut and lots of rock .....
Sure was. The rock breaker was going for so long. We have been in since November so the pain has dulled a little but still have an extra $30k to pay back to my dad who loaned it to us Re: Rock excavation!!!! Thanks mate !!!! Good suggestion. I will look at that option if they come up with rediculous prices Re: Rock excavation!!!! How much would it cost 20Jun 18, 2017 10:14 pm In Sydney, most councils don't let you cut more than a metre. Also, M do not allow internal drop edge beams of more than 700mm so I would be very concerned here also. Particularly since there is no provisional sum in your contract to provide for such an eventuality. It is very odd that the two boreholes didn't show the existence of rock. They go to at least 2 metres deep so they know what kind of piering will be required for the slab. Definately get out to site and try to see the rock for yourself. Speak to your neighbours if you can also to see if they know of any rock also. Question everything. For example, I've always wondered how M can make those luxury promotions for free. It really makes one wonder how they can remain profitable whilst other builders are going under? If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck.... maybe it is a duck.
