I think you're meant to rectify it when you do your driveway. We had to pay a bond to council for it. Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13843Jun 09, 2017 2:30 am Izee - we used site demolition as they were linked to Masterton and were priced competitively. They did a good job. We had a lot of problems with them but they were honest and sorted everything out. Little family business. We also got a quote from democorp. You have to compare the tiny details of the quotes, not just headline price, to see what's more suitable for you as they have different inclusions and exclusions eg traffic, asbestos, external laundry or dunny, disc of telco lines, tenure of security fence (knowing M will be delayed as always with putting their fence in) etc The gas disconnection bill can be really upsetting. You need to do that before demolition directly with your supplier (jemena for us) Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13844Jun 09, 2017 5:00 am I used Daniels Demolitions so honest with there quote in comparison to others I had approached and cheaper as well did a great job highly recommend them KDR. We used Complete Demolition and were happy with their job and price. We are not in Sydney though. Internal doors and architraves have been fitted this week as well as our sliding wardrobe doors. Apparently our kitchen has been delayed, it was anticipated this week. I'm hoping kitchen install might occur next week. Loving my laundry door ... All our PCI items are fixed. It only took them nearly 11 months post keys!! Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13854Jun 13, 2017 8:54 pm Famous last words Mgardz .... we are 26 months post keys & last week i had tilers out, had to have a mirror smashed & removed, tilers back out, shower screen installers back (due today but "sick"). Plus have extractor fan (which died) getting replaced, dowell windows out next week for a service .... !!! Next monday 3 tradies ... all still at Ms expense ... coming over!!! Too funny. Partially my fault ... i waited 18 months before i finally decided i didn't really think the shower screen i got was the one i paid for ... changing one shower screen has been a production bigger than ben hur!!!! And notwithstanding me specifically telling the tilers the grout colour (gunmetal!) ..... we are going to need those grout painters back out as i think they got it wrong .... see pic! Grouted 7 days ago now ... i don't think it's going to darken! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ On a brighter note .... we are heading off overseas for 3 months in 12 days, & have managed to rent out our place (furnished) while we are away, so our departure deadline has really spurred those tradies into action (ie a one week job has only taken 2 months, instead of 6!) 2013 1st tender 24/10 Dep. 18/11 2014 5% 25/02 CDC approval 5/5 Demo 26/5 Pool 3/7 Valid'n 10/7 Slab 11/8 Frame 19/9 Bricks 23/10 2015 Roof 3/12 Lock up 11/2 PCI 31/3 Final insp. & keys 30/4 Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13855Jun 14, 2017 11:22 am Too true quasi , too true. MGardz it's been quite the journey for you. I'm glad you've made it. Villinaeliters, it looks to me like they didn't stir the colour through the grout properly as there is a very light section there. M have been dragging the chain on our build so I'm in no hurry to sign off on PCI if there are outstanding jobs to be completed. The silly thing is I'm relatively happy with the quality , if M had just booked trades in when they were meant to and delivered our house within contract I would have been a happy customer. Unbelievable 55 years building houses they couldn't do this right still waiting on outcome. Congrats Gibson nearly at the end. V how exciting where you heading ? KDR. We just had PCI and you know we are pretty happy with it all. Our building inspector did a walk through too and the only major issue was he couldn't see the aircon condenser in the ceiling. Paint finish is pretty good with just a few touch ups. Shower screens need a little attention and a couple of light switches in weird places. We are waiting in an answer on the aircon before approving the PCI , but fingers crossed the house might be ours very soon. Photos? We've suffered through a household full of sickness this week. It's made our 'everyone living all together' arrangement that much harder. A full nights sleep is hard to come by and patience is frayed. This August it will be two years since we sold our beautiful first family home and moved in with my folks while we embarked on this building adventure. We never EVER thought we'd still be here .... four adults + three kids squished into one house ... two ... looonnnggg years later. Oh well, light at the end of the tunnel and all that jazz. We are fully locked out now, so pics are through the windows unless someone is on site.
