Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building Emperor 48 10Jun 10, 2017 9:32 pm The slab will be laid on Wednesday this coming week. I cannot wait, I'm so excited. Re: Building Emperor 48 11Jun 13, 2017 11:57 pm Hi All, So today Darbecca attended the site to do the Slab pre pour inspection. I must say i am quite happy as there was only 4 items for the builder to rectify which was done as the inspector found the defects. Tomorrow morning the slab will be laid. it's finally becoming a reality, after a very long and draining admin process now the construction team is flying through it which i l knew would be the case, hence why Darbecca was engaged to keep the builder in check. money well spent! Re: Building Emperor 48 12Jun 14, 2017 12:18 am I thought I'd share my plans which has been modified lightly. Added the Rumpus room, converted the library to a guest with ensuite and also did the alternate kitchen. This means the stove gets shifted from being behind the island bench and gets moved to the other side, leaving me with a splash back window. Admin process could have been better. There were a few issues but all have been sorted. Re: Building Emperor 48 16Jul 24, 2017 5:51 pm Hi JPSEmperor48, I'm looking forward to seeing your progress! We too are building the Emperor 48 - such a great floorplan May I ask what time frame they have given you to complete the build? Exciting times ahead! Re: Building Emperor 48 17Jul 24, 2017 8:54 pm Hi Round2HenleyBuild, It is indeed an awesome floorplan, even nicer with the added rumpus room and guest with ensuite. makes it complete. As per our Site Supervisor, we should be in by Christmas. the build is going really quick though i know they tend to slow down after lockup. The roof is up. Heating / Cooling ducts are in. they have started to run the pipes for water and gas. Electrical will start next Monday Henley has been very good so far. you still need to be on your toes with everything. there has been a few hiccups but nothing they haven't been able to fix. so please go over your contract / tender and electrical plans several times. Re: Building Emperor 48 18Jul 27, 2017 10:59 am Fingers crossed you will be able to enjoy Christmas in your new home Can I ask what you chose for the staircase? I do like the one in the display but all that space under the staircase seems like such a waste to not have as more storage... Oh the joys of having choices lol Re: Building Emperor 48 19Jul 27, 2017 11:23 am Round2HenleyBuild Fingers crossed you will be able to enjoy Christmas in your new home Can I ask what you chose for the staircase? Oh the joys of having choices lol We chose the glass ballustrades with the timber staircase. Cost was just under 5k for the glass balustrade. I hope it will be ready by Christmas. It sure does look like they are ahead of schedule. Re: Building Emperor 48 20Jul 30, 2017 8:13 pm Hi Everyone, Looks like they will start the brickwork very soon. I had an issue there the Gas point that was meant to go in the Alfresco area but somehow between tender and contract, the drawings got updated and the little G on the drawings got moved to the wrong spot. The plumber who came to do the rough ins obviously followed the Drawings and when i rocked up to the site to have a look, I was not impressed. A Call to the site manager and all got resolved. he got the plumber to remove t=the gas point that was going to the wrong spot and moved it to the correct one. Electrical rough ins have also started, however i got a call from Argus on Friday and they would like me to attend the site on Monday morning, so his Electrician can meet up with me to go over the Data runs and the main distribution point. I'm very glad i received this call as i was nervous this whole time knowing that something will go wrong. They seem to know this job is more on the complex side compared to other jobs.
