Flooring and carpet is done, rendering done, taps and finishing 90% there, electricals 90% there. All that I can see that is left to be done is the external part of the house such as driveway, site clean up e.t.c. Could not get inside the house but I did take pics from the windows! I am building trentham 30 too. We have been waiting for our land to title and it just titled this week, ( almost a year later then first estimated). House looks great and I should have put a shower down stairs. When do you expect to move in? I am trying to get a rough idea how long after they lay our slab till it will be ready for us to move in. Hi There Metricon started officially started in the end of the last week of Feb and we are know in the last stage so approximately it has taken us four months to build! I got an email yesterday with the final invoice so I am assuming we are close to getting the certificate of occupancy so that we can settle! I have not gone through the final inspection so not sure if that will add time to the build but looking at is so far there are only minor defects to rectify. I think you can add the shower downstairs but they may charge you a hefty variation charge as it looks your drawings have already been approved. Re: Metricon Trentham 34Jul 01, 2017 8:19 am Hi There Had the same problem as well square shape block and only the Threntham could fit as it had a seperate garage design. Really happy with the design so far will upload pictures of the inside today! Re: Metricon Trentham 35Jul 01, 2017 12:15 pm Hi All We are nearly at final stage. The temporary fences have been removed and the whole house is locked up! There is an alarm system inside the house that is armed and activated so cannot get into the house but I do have pictures of our last visit here they are! How are you finding it all? Happy with your choices and design modifications? We're just starting our Trentham build, it's so hard to pick a house you've never actually been able to walk through. Looks like your build was done in good time. Metricon Trentham 37Jul 27, 2017 7:43 pm No not in yet we had PCI last week but the driveway is not yet done because we are waiting on the gas line to be put in. There is also a list of defects that need to be fixed not major but may take sometime. Overall I am happy with the Threntham design it is deceptively big. I really like the skylight upstairs it brings in a lot of light and also the balcony. Also glad I put a sliding door in one of the rooms downstairs as we are making a guest room and small living area. We have a lot to do post handover, we are going to change the flooring and also going to do some cabinetry in the walk in wardrobe. You are really going to enjoy the house here are some pictures from the PCI inspection. The balcony is not as big on our facade but enough for us to sit out there, have a wine and enjoy the view! Looking good, I'm glad you're happy with the house. Hopefully they don't take too long fixing things up for you. Re: Metricon Trentham 39Jul 27, 2017 8:33 pm Just discovered your blog! Gees your house has gone up quick! I'm building a Newhaven 36 which is basically a Trentham in the designer range. It's a little larger but it is essentially a square house with a garage on the side. Seems like most of us who build this kind of house only choose it due to the size of our blocks. We started our build back in October and are also now in the final stages. Can I ask why did you put in flooring when you will expect to upgrade it after? I'm doing my own hardwood flooring post handover too so was curious on this point. Hopefully they don't take too long fixing things up for you. We have a creek in front of us as well and from the balcony can see parts of big lake to the right of us. It’s an amazing feeling for the first time you look out the balcony and see the view I am probably going to the same as you every weekend!
