Their contract manager would still be head office... Sounds like it wasn't that they hadn't been paid, just that they had been booked so long ago (January), but not given a date for the job! I guess he was getting worried that he didn't have any more work coming with the backlog from the Sekisui/Burbank changeover. Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 187May 28, 2017 2:43 pm ehhc Wasn't there some talk about the sekisui carpenters not moving across? Perhaps there was a rate dispute... wouldn't have a clue just thinking out loud. But anyway... are carpenters completely done with your home? Does anyone know what else carpenters do besides the frames and windows/doors? I asked what the carpenter still had to do, and it was things like frames around doors and windows now that the plasterboard is in. Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 188May 28, 2017 2:55 pm Managed to get pretty much all our window furnishings today from Spotlight, and it only cost us $1300!! I think we saved about $2000! Everything seemed to be at 50% off or clearance! I won't say the curtains are AMAZING, but we just wanted something where we could move in straight away and be able to sleep for at least a few months before we decide whether we want something more decorative. They are all neutral colours like TAUPE and STONE, so will look unobtrusive, as opposed to stylish. Our house has a street light out the front, so all the bedrooms need blockout curtains. So we got 10 curtain rails, 10 sets of curtains, and 6 lots of white timber venetians for the living areas. Now we just need to figure our whether we need anything for the two sets of glass sliding doors at the back..... That can probably wait until we move in..... Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 189May 28, 2017 3:07 pm Excellent! I love big saving. Any where you start to save is always a big bonus. If I'm at your stage I will do the same. KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 194May 28, 2017 8:00 pm Oh nice!!! You guys must of been so happy to have seen the plasterboard up! Cos seriously, I'm already sick of just seeing the frames and it hasn't even been that long for us yet Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 195May 29, 2017 6:25 pm Yes, it was very nice to see the rooms finally come into shape! Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 196May 29, 2017 10:21 pm Rooms are nice and bright even without paint. Fit out for kitchen/ bathrooms after paint or before paint? Build Thread : viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 197May 31, 2017 5:16 pm Having the walls definitely makes a big difference! Pretty sure fit out for the kitchen is before painting, because I think it goes stairs, then waterproofing, then kitchen cabinetry. That's as far as we have been told.... If it all keeps going, they said it should be about 8 weeks until painting. Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 199Jun 02, 2017 9:49 pm Oops, don't know why the pictures uploaded sideways.... Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 200Jun 03, 2017 12:30 pm That was quick! What will be the finished flooring material over the stairs? We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 37085 The biggest challenge will be if you take out a loan and then run out of money - you'll have an incomplete security and lenders do not like this so you can get stuck.… 2 18897 Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 13437 |
