Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 27, 2017 7:05 pm There can quite some confusion when choosing exterior colours. I was wondering if anybody could suggest a nice gray and/or brown exterior combinations for my upcoming dual occ property? Thanks in advance As this is my first time building and especially as a OB im excited. We are pretty close getting the Building permit and ready to start. I'll try to find a photo Re: Tried and tested exterior colour combinations 3May 28, 2017 3:29 pm Haven't started building yet but here are our choices. We are lovingly calling our house the 50 shades of grey house lol. Re: Tried and tested exterior colour combinations 4May 29, 2017 3:51 pm We have wallaby roof and garage door, cloudy sky render and urban tribe feature render, pavers are pewter. All soft mid-toned colours which work well in all lights. Wallaby as a feature render would work well with cloudy sky too, urban tribe is more brown-grey than grey-brown. This can dramatically change the look of a colour. I used Vanilla Quake, Basalt, Domino with monument windows and flashing. Like ⋅ 3 comments ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ C U S T O M. C O R A L. I think we will have Monument windows and sliding doors, and I'm leaning towards Basalt for roof and garage door but unsure of what colour to have for gutters and fascia boards - Monument to match the windows? Basalt to blend into the roof? Introduce a third colour as contrast? Second Time 'Round Re: Tried and tested exterior colour combinations 9May 31, 2017 3:37 pm Hi!! We used: Boral Mocha bricks (Kurrajong are similar too, we couldn't decide between) Monument garage door, gutters, downpipes, windows, doors (incl front door painted Monument). Dune fascia. As a feature we used grey concrete look tiles on the pillars (they look a bit yellow in the pic, the whole pic has a yellow tinge) and the bit above the pillars we painted Monument. I think we are going to do something with that bit, it is a bit plain for me. http://i666.photobucket.com/albums/vv26/nataisha19/front%20finish_zpshbveusxe.jpg My blog: tashandpaul.wordpress.com Re: Tried and tested exterior colour combinations 10Jun 01, 2017 7:49 am MrsJM BrownDog77 MrsJM Also think about whether your facade gets sun and when. Yaay we chose basalt so happy now to see yours looks great as hard to tell on that tiny card in colours Re: Tried and tested exterior colour combinations 11Jun 01, 2017 11:12 am First_Timer_Ray I'd love to see more of these. Basalt to blend into the roof? Introduce a third colour as contrast? Both work. We have monument windows, basalt roof, gutter and fascia and garage (too early for pictures). Our feature brick is dark and front door will be monument to balance with windows. There are quite a few in our estate that have gone monument fascia and gutter with basalt roof. This is the display we used for inspo, renders are basalt and refuge. Our bricks and front door will be darker. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ 1.
