Question for all :-
I don't like translucent glass on windows and doors. There are other option in the market which are kind of clear however privacy is there. I saw some in Humes website. What are your thoughts.
Main Door, we are going for the bigger one however I do not like the style. I received the USB and saw some interesting doors. When do you think is the best time to ask for change?
btw we have signed the initial tender with variation and paid 5000 so I am a fellow Wisdomier now. Not excited yet as land will register next month hopefully (with Allam) and Home loan is still at verification stage. Thanks for all your help so far.
Hi Aaron2008,
Congrats on committing to W.
For the door change, I would specify this either in a group of other changes that you are making with your tender before signing the contract, or wait until your colour appointment and make the change there.
A lot of this will depend on what you are going to get your bank to finance - will they finance the post contract variations or just your contract amount?
I think the key is when you make changes to your tender, try and make them in a bunch together, rather than sending through a number of emails/calls to make changes here and there. You just lose weeks when your file is sent back to drafting/estimating to make each change, so you need to keep at a minimum the file being sent back to drafting/estimating. If W are the ones to make a mistake, then that's where you can really push them to fix it quick, as its not your fault.
Your file will be held up after your appointments anyway, as they incorporate your kitchen/bathrooms/flooring/air con/stairs/landscaping/electrical into your contract.
Our file got held up a lot initially because we made a number of changes prior to signing the contract (and W made a number of errors as well), so the file was with estimating a lot.
