Good Luck mj2016! Re: Knock Down Rebuild - Henley Reserve (MainVue) - Aegean38 6May 11, 2017 10:55 pm Great choice on the Aegean Rachel. But we're a little biased on the floor plan . Can't wait to follow your build. We've got our colours this Monday so can't wait to get in there an smash it out. I've asked our admin to book our tender and contact as it's going cray cray at Henley with all the files they've got. Re: Knock Down Rebuild - Henley Reserve (MainVue) - Aegean38 7May 12, 2017 9:31 pm Nice firsttime - enjoy the appointment for colours. We actually had fun with it but we knew the scheme that we were trying to achieve. Good luck with it. I just wish we could book our contract but we have a few more things to complete before we can even get to that stage. Like you we are a little (very) biased on the floor plan - I just love it and can't wait to start building. I'll stalk your colours after Monday, which reminds me I should add mine to this thread Re: Knock Down Rebuild - Henley Reserve (MainVue) - Aegean38 8May 12, 2017 9:52 pm We already have approval from the council to move the crossover, and today Henley has confirmed that we don't have to it moved until after we build. Yay! Have called a couple of contractors for quote to move the crossover, and return the existing crossover, to curb, gutter and nature strip. We'll know next week what the cost will be. Ahh the joys of building. Ahh the joys of building. Great news. We weren't sure what to do about our crossover. It was approved but the guy we chose to do it was saying wait till after the build. While our building company is telling us to do it after demo but before build that way the big demo equipment won't damage it but the builder has better access to the site. At the moment our crossover is on the back side and we have to agree once they start there won't be any access there. Re: Knock Down Rebuild - Henley Reserve (MainVue) - Aegean38 10May 13, 2017 6:18 pm I'm just moving mine for left hand side to the right hand side. I had crossover protection down for the earth movers during the demo and there are some planks that are worst for wear, so short answer is yes, don't move it till after demo. As for the builder, I would check if they are going to provide asset protection with the council and provide the crossover protection, as well as repair any damage they make using the crossover during construction. I know that when we previously built on a new block, there was no damage to the crossover. Yeah we were leaning towards not doing the crossover until after the build was complete but at our Tender meeting they told us that they get Asset Protection with the council for the build. (We have to get it ourselves for the demo). I'll ask again at contract to confirm it. For our build they need a crane to get stuff over the power lines which will be on the road so there shouldn't be a need for any real heavy equipment to use the new crossover whereas the demo will have heavy vehicles etc. Re: Knock Down Rebuild - Henley Reserve (MainVue) - Aegean38 12May 14, 2017 12:53 pm Time to share our colours - our palette is simple grey, white and wood. This way we can add any colour and the kids can still have their own style rooms. Our former house had many colours, from dark blue feature walls, to the kids rooms being one yellow wall with three blue and the other being three yellow walls with one blue. There was mauve latte, and light blue through out the house.
So you can imagine - we are ready for the same colours being through out this new home. Outside - We have chosen the Eclipse façade with option 2 part render. Bricks - Austral Brighton from the Melbourne range with off white mortar Main render is White Duck and feature render is Wallaby Roof is colourbond Monument as it the spouting Front, Garage, Laundry doors,Fascia, Z Flashing, downpipes are Wallaby All windows - aluminium, same as alfresco sliders, are monument Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Inside:- Ceiling and cornice - Builders white Walls - Grey Pebble quarter (dulux wash & wear) Doors, skirting and architraves - Lexicon quarter Stairs and handrails - Rich Chocolate Kitchen:- Island Burnished wood with Osprey stone top Cupboards - White laminate in natural finish uppers and lowers with Urban stone bench Splash back is gloss white subway tile with bumpy edges and Magellan grey grout Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Ensuite and bathrooms:- Cabinets are white laminate with Urban bench Tiles on the walls are Storm Grey with Misty grey grout Floor is tiled in Outback Charcoal with slate grey grout We have added shower niche's to all showers and one wall with the niche's have a feature tile of matt hex tiles with slate grey grout and the on this will also be the darker Outback Charcoal. Very simple, clean colour palette for us Re: Knock Down Rebuild - Henley Reserve (MainVue) - Aegean38 13May 26, 2017 10:35 pm So waiting on the water company to approve moving the water meter and whilst this was meant to take 30 days for approval, it had not been reviewed when I enquired about it. This has been escalated and we wait longer for the go ahead. Love the waiting game......Not! But.... I'm determined to celebrate the little wins and just work on the issues one day at a time. But.... I'm determined to celebrate the little wins and just work on the issues one day at a time. I know what you mean. People asking what's happening and we just have to say, we're still in the paperwork stage (for us) Each little step completely is one step forward and hopefully not too many back, lol Re: Knock Down Rebuild - Henley Reserve (MainVue) - Aegean38 17May 28, 2017 11:07 am ah the paperwork stage - I guess we are all in this until the builder breaks ground. At least with this forum everyone understands that this process takes time and a KDR takes sooooo much longer. I know that a new block was much easier and less painful than this process. Re: Knock Down Rebuild - Henley Reserve (MainVue) - Aegean38 18May 28, 2017 10:25 pm Love your bathroom and kitchen colours, again we're a little biased (we've got similar choices). Hopefully you don't have many more delays and we can start our builds together. Re: Knock Down Rebuild - Henley Reserve (MainVue) - Aegean38 19May 29, 2017 7:40 am Im looking forward to following your build. Is this a double storey? Are you doing cctv as part of your build or after? Hopefully you don't have many more delays and we can start our builds together. Got to love that our colours are trendy - lol. As for delays - I've accepted that there are going to be lots on the way and I'll celebrate every step forward. We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 24771 The biggest challenge will be if you take out a loan and then run out of money - you'll have an incomplete security and lenders do not like this so you can get stuck.… 2 13482 Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 8180 |
