Hehe. Just noticed my auto correct prefers Nick Scalia rather than Nick Scali.
Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Coral Daydream 32 1016May 09, 2017 6:39 pm Becs Coral We have a little progress. Our gorgeous decking stairs are taking shape and should be finished tomorrow. The top one needed to be angled slightly because the house is at an able to the road. He has done such a great job at tapering each strip to get the angle right. Such a fiddly job. After trying to contact the guy that did our driveway for 2 months, we got the contact of this fella. He gave us the quote on the Friday, then rang the next Wed when I was at work to let me know it was all formed. On the Thursday I discussed some drainage problems. That afternoon, he dug up a section of pipe, attached connectors for future work, then poured it on the Friday, doing an excellent t job. He will be back it a few weeks sealing the path and the driveway. It's all finally starting to fake shape. The concrete paths around the house look so good! I'll have to get my lazy butt out for a walk and have a looksee. We've been busy out the back with our screening. Our bob cat guy needs to come back and clear off the front so we can lay turf. My Homeone Thread - Re: Coral Daydream 32 1019May 11, 2017 4:32 pm The stairs look insanely good! I've been thinking about doing something like this at our place... so you mind if I ask the cost? I noticed you have gravel below too. Guessing this is for drainage and to stop the soil from moving given the slope to your door. Unfortunately they started the boards to our deck immediately after formwork which was earlier than expected we we didn't even get time to level the ground nevermind gravel or drainage! C U S T O M. We put some geocloth underneath that too so hoping that will be enough to save it. Lol. All up it has cost us about $4000ish, which included about 5-6 hours of excavation and hole digging through rock, plus oiling. It ended up costing a bit more than we though because the blackbutt doesn't come in standard size lengths so we ended up having to get a fair bit more so we had the whole lengths we needed. We are planning on cladding our garden/retaining wall beside it with the black butt so should have more than enough for that to go. Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 14188 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 4376 |
