We got everything we wanted in the upgrade package the offered ... granite tops and glass splash back in the kitchen ... we were very impressed wioth their standard finishes. We also got FREE Actron Air Conditioning which was a promo when we signed up .. Re: Build a new home from Mcdonald Jones Homes 11Apr 26, 2017 9:01 am tashan How basic is basic? I have $5,000 budgeted for colour now I am very nervous about how much more it will cost. The exterior colours are fine. You get 3 painted colours for the outside which is not too hard to work with. Eaves, posts and anything else like ours being bag and capped at the front. The interior colour selection is the issue. Not a big range, however, if you stick to the normal range of colours without going for out of the ordinary stuff it's ok. It's when you start going for feature walls which are an additional $400 and if it's outside the colour range it's another $200. We wanted a dark colour ceiling in our media lounge and that cost us an extra $650. If you've budgeted for 5k that should be fine. Unless you want a feature wall in every room etc. Re: Build a new home from Mcdonald Jones Homes 12Apr 28, 2017 9:46 am Hi Tashan, just as a help, these were the upgrades we went for during colours and may help you prioritise the items that you want and need within your budget (please note that we had the impressions package and prices below is what we spent for our house and might not be applicable to yours): 1.
