Depends how long our bank takes with approving the new building amount (with our variations etc) and gets the ACC letter out, but they think around 4-6 weeks before we're handed over to construction

We have one in year 3, and twins who should go to kindy in 2019. We were thinking about OP public, but have heard mixed reviews about it already exceeding capacity. Thinking we may need to go slightly further afield, I don't want to have to go out to cobbity or something though. We're currently at a good local school with heaps of trees etc, kind of looking for the same thing, any thoughts/ suggestions? Building at Catherine Park 84May 02, 2017 10:32 pm Mine all go to the catholic schools next door. We love them. I've heard good things about op public and they will continue to expand. Have you seen the new plans for the high school? They will book you in for an appointment with principal just to pick up application so might be worth going in and getting a feel for it yourself? I cannot tell you how excited I am about being so close to the kids school. My suggestion would be not to go too far afield. Kids are so busy and you don't need to lose hours every day on buses. (Been there, done that) majestic35.weebly.com Re: Building at Catherine Park 85May 02, 2017 10:36 pm OP told us they wouldn't even look at enrolments for next year until term 4, and that they didn't have to take us if they're 'full' even though we are in their feeder area (which is wrong, they cannot turn us away as we are in feeder area) Catholic school told us we basically weren't catholic enough, as we don't have a parish to transfer from Building at Catherine Park 86May 02, 2017 10:46 pm joannapaulp OP told us they wouldn't even look at enrolments for next year until term 4, and that they didn't have to take us if they're 'full' even though we are in their feeder area (which is wrong, they cannot turn us away as we are in feeder area) Catholic school told us we basically weren't catholic enough, as we don't have a parish to transfer from Hmm sounds like op are trying to discourage enrolments which would probably put my back up to be honest if it was me! Cobbity is just across northern rd through Oran park and then you have Harrington park ps which is probably the closest. St Francis is the new k-12 in Edmonson park that is on site at st Benedicts at the moment if you wanted to go n that direction. majestic35.weebly.com Re: Building at Catherine Park 87May 03, 2017 11:41 am Just saw this on FB Residents are also encouraged to provide input into the proposed expansion of Oran Park Public School and the construction of the new Oran Park High School. The application is on public exhibition today until Monday 4 June. A link to the application is here: http://majorprojects.planning.nsw.gov.au/index.pl… Anyone wishing to make a submission on this proposal may do so based on the information in the link. This proposal will allow Oran Park Public School to accommodate 1000 students upon completion and the Oran Park High School will have an enrolment capacity of 2000 students upon completion. We have previously been advised the High School is expected to open for the 2020 school year. Below is an extract of a plan view of the proposal: Re: Building at Catherine Park 88May 16, 2017 8:56 pm So got some good news this week, builder said the pegout had been ordered last Tuesday, our final plans that we got last week should be fixed and out to us tomorrow, and we have full approval from the bank for the construction loan Should start seeing something physical happening on site shortly Re: Building at Catherine Park 89May 17, 2017 6:50 am joannapaulp So got some good news this week, builder said the pegout had been ordered last Tuesday, our final plans that we got last week should be fixed and out to us tomorrow, and we have full approval from the bank for the construction loan Should start seeing something physical happening on site shortly That's brilliant!! Pgh dark rum Not so much the bricks as the system. They don't actually order them ahead of time and from speaking to pgh it seems at least a third of bricks if not more are out of stock at any given point. I know 3 different people waiting on 3 different bricks and when I asked the brick companies about alternatives a lot of the other bricks were out of stock too. Normal practise apparently.
