I'm basically sold on the idea of installing CFL downlights instead of halogen.
What I need to know is whether a 11w CFL is going to be able to produce as much light as a 50w halogen.
Hope someone can help.

How would you rate it? Troy Re: CFL vs Halogen downlights 16Mar 06, 2009 2:36 pm hawks Hope I can help. In the next couple of months a company called Nelson Lamps is releasing a 22w GU10 fluoro lamp to fit in the standard gimbles. These will have the electronic components of the lamp moulded into the lead so the lamp is physically smaller. From what I hear this is due in 12 weeks and is twice as bright as a megaman 11W GU10 Fits fixed and gimble lights. Possibly sold as a kit.. Re: CFL vs Halogen downlights 19Mar 12, 2009 2:32 pm I just visited another local light shop and discovered this downlight kit. They told me it was very new. Only come in about 2 weeks ago.
