I had bought light fittings for my dining & living areas. I have since returned them. The one for the dining area was a pendent but o bought it before my furniture was in and without paying too close attention to where the aircon vent & light bayonet are. Unfortunately because of the aircon vent i can't move the light which means any lighting i put up will be way off-centred above my table. So now i have no idea what lighting to put up. 😕😕 Building SOR with Dreamstart Homes Customised Dream Dior/Summer Sensation https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=83776 Doing it again 394Apr 13, 2017 9:17 pm jpmontoya Yep, we got cat6e everywhere it is even faster than cat6. There is no such thing Cat6e There is cat6a i suggest you get independent electrician to confirm, you don't want it to spark in the ceiling cavity one day and is cause of any damage Re: Doing it again 395Apr 13, 2017 9:29 pm sajidmib There is no such thing Cat6e There is cat6a i suggest you get independent electrician to confirm, you don't want it to spark in the ceiling cavity one day and is cause of any damage Category 6e Category 6 Enhanced (6e) is an augmented specification designed to double transmission frequency to 500 MHz. By wrapping Category 6e in grounded foil shielding, full 10-Gigabit Ethernet speeds can be reached without sacrificing the max cable length of 100 meters. I think i've also decided what to do about my red brick garden bed walls. Have just come across the Wattyl Solagard Ready Render Coarse http://www.wattyl.com.au/en/find-the-ri ... oarse.html So am thinking i will paint that wall with this ready render coarse paint - if it's not too expensive. I'll have to go & visit the solaguard shop in Rockingham on Saturday morning to get prices & look at the colour range. Watch this space... I doubt it i have never heard of this term although i work in this field and their is cat6a and cat7 Re: Doing it again 398Apr 14, 2017 3:21 pm SilentBoB sajidmib There is no such thing Cat6e There is cat6a i suggest you get independent electrician to confirm, you don't want it to spark in the ceiling cavity one day and is cause of any damage Category 6e Category 6 Enhanced (6e) is an augmented specification designed to double transmission frequency to 500 MHz. By wrapping Category 6e in grounded foil shielding, full 10-Gigabit Ethernet speeds can be reached without sacrificing the max cable length of 100 meters. Category 6e is not a standard, and is frequently misused because category 5 followed with 5e as an enhancement on category 5. Soon after the ratification of Cat 6, a number of manufacturers began offering cable labeled as "Category 6e". Their intent was to suggest their offering was an upgrade to the Category 6 standard—presumably naming it after Category 5e. However, no legitimate Category 6e standard exists,[10] and Cat 6e is not a recognized standard by the Telecommunications Industry Association. Category 7 is an international ISO standard, but not a TIA standard. Cat 7 is already in place as a shielded cable solution with non-traditional connectors that are not backward-compatible with category 3 through 6A. Category 8 is the next UTP cabling offering to be backward compatible.[11] Read the whole article here, you might be conned by electrician https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category_6_cable Re: Doing it again 399Apr 20, 2017 3:14 pm Does anyone have any ideas on what i could use for wall capping on garden edging/retained garden bed? Remastone reconstituted limestone capping (@ $7.75 each) is too expensive for me as much as i would love it. I'm thinking i may have to go with thin pavers. Any suggestions are welcome 🙂 Building SOR with Dreamstart Homes Customised Dream Dior/Summer Sensation https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=83776 Re: Doing it again 400Apr 27, 2017 7:48 pm So Anzac day & yesterday were spent helping my Dad do the wall capping for my garden beds. It looks pretty damn good if i do say so myself The red wall will be painted with Ready Render paint in a colour to match the other bricks. Debating whether or not to do my 3x3m paved/prrgola area or not. Either way, it's time to get the retic sorted.
