For anyone still selecting colours, surfmist is waaaay whiter on a large scale. Looked more greyish to me on the little samples when put directly next to white... Building Majestic 40 - wisdom homes Per my last post, I hope your SS stays cool. Its much better to keep on top of whats happening, so if mistakes are made they can be fixed straight away. Surfmist does look greyish on the samples. We are using it mostly on our facade (together wit a bit of wallaby) against the dark brick. To me its still looks grey on your place though. Are you happy with the cladding? We changed our cladding to Axom Vertical cladding from the Horizontal - hoping that was the correct choice. Well we are down to the last few weeks and he is pretty good with us. We are pretty cruisey too and have a good laugh with him so I think he's probably more open with us than some others. What a shame yours has said that! We got a private inspection done and just took our guy (granted it was an acquaintance of ours!) after hours when no tradies were there. He said he hated doing inspections with the SS as they try to justify everything. It all came back good but we didn't get a report or anything. He said it wasn't necessary given what he saw. I'm undecided about the cladding as we wanted white shutters on that room, so it may look TOO white compared to what we wanted but no idea what colour I would change it to. It still has a grey tinge but I thought it would be more distinct than it is. Building Majestic 40 - wisdom homes Not long for you now, wish I was at similar stage. Plenty to go for us, am now hoping it will be finished off this year..... (need to be more positive I think!!!) (need to be more positive I think!!!)
Well if it helps you with time frames: we just passed 6 months (including the Xmas shutdown) and I'm predicting a MAXIMUM of 2 months for our moving day. So hopefully 6 weeks until PCI. 8 months from slab going down is pretty reasonable estimate for a large house and gives you a bit of a buffer for error/weather. (Except in msjovi's case unfortunately! ) Building Majestic 40 - wisdom homes Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 4773Mar 22, 2017 7:02 pm Jordann ozmonkeyoy There must be something in the water that the W SS's are drinking at the moment. We've been formally cautioned to speaking with tradies on site. Funnily enough, I have only spoken once to a tradie since construction started, and that was after they invited me onsite to have a look after at their work (after they saw me standing outside the build fence looking). Apparently my SS was informed a different story, and we have been told to stay away and our only contact is to be in the weekly call each Friday with him. That has left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth, as I know we haven't bugged anyone and in my mind left everyone to do their job as they need to, and I let my SS know what really happened. SS are humans, so each will will be different to the next. I have SMSed my SS for 3 separate problems with the build since construction started. All were acknowledged as legit problems and would be fixed. Its a fine line that we tread as owners - we want to let the builder do their job and not hound them all the time, but we know probably more about our individual houses than what the SS's do (since they are looking after up to 10-15 builds at once). If we see mistakes along the way, there should be no hesitation to contact the SS to ask. Mistakes are easier to fix just after they are done, rather than catching it out later. I've engaged a private inspector to look over the build at pre-lining and PCI stages. Since my SS was advised of this (a few weeks ago now), the dynamic seemed to change a little bit for the worse. I wonder how many owners actually engage inspectors to look over the build - I'm sure the builders would prefer this not to happen. Anyway lets hope that things don't turn too sour. This week the weather has been better, but there has been no activity on site since early last week. Bricklayers are supposed to come back next week, but there has been no site of scaffolding this week thusfar in anticipation for their return. Oz Wonder who dobbed you in? Maybe W can afford to have cameras setup on site now......would explain a few things... Tradies that I spoke to onsite would have covered themselves by telling a few tales I am assuming. They were fine to chat to and actually asked me some questions themselves to speed up their work. But they aren't supposed to allow you onsite -you are supposed to be with a Wisdom rep so I was told. So covering themselves I guess Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 4774Mar 22, 2017 7:07 pm MrsLlamas2016 ozmonkeyoy MrsLlamas2016

Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Living proof that I annoy our tradies haha Staining getting done today and yesterday they did the external painting on our cladding and portico! When i spoke to SS last week he said we were still in front of schedule. We expected 8months build time with an extra month buffer for weather stuff ups etc. Slab went down last week of Jan so if we can be done by end of October I will be happy. I think we're 4-6 weeks from site start if all goes well. Excellent not far off then at all. So Engineers report, CC, finance letter then your final docs. I think it was approx 6 wks from draft end panel to site cut for us but then plumbing/slab prep was another 7 weeks after that due to xmas shutdown. They ll be able to do yours much quicker.
