It's also a bit of relief too to see it's not a total mess. Re: Building Lexington 240 65Feb 06, 2017 11:21 am Time for another update. Fix is nearing completion and bricks are done. They will be cleaned soon and I'm told within 2 weeks or so the temp fence should be down and all storm water etc done. Front of house - the exposed steel on the porch will eventually be clad with 55mm design-a-clad. You can see it well but the double doors are 2340mm high and then the bricks go over them on a steel lintel right up to the trusses. It's about 3m high all up and will look very spiffy. You can see the fridge cavity and butlers with open shelves. All the benches with a top will get 20mm stone. Appliances arrive much later on to prevent theft I'm told. The top shelves are a horizontal wood pattern whilst all bottom shelves match the walls sort of. The splashback will be a dark brown in starfire glass. Power room isn't shown but it's a smaller version of the kids vanity. The laminex gives a hint of the stone we picked which is fairly light with some speckles. Hoping we are within 2 months to finish. Re: Building Lexington 240 68Feb 08, 2017 12:19 pm looking great, hopefully the smooth build continues for you! Our Build Thread - JG king Memphis Re: Building Lexington 240 69Feb 13, 2017 8:13 pm We are getting our prices done now to build the Lexington as well. We went through the display home in Bendigo in November and will hopefully go through the Geelong one this weekend. It's great to see how your house is coming along. Re: Building Lexington 240 70Feb 13, 2017 8:30 pm Glad I can help. If you have any questions about the design, feel free to ask. Re: Building Lexington 240 71Mar 01, 2017 1:33 pm This has been so so helpful! My partner and i are planning on building the lexington 240 and yet to get down to pricing, but to see your build and inclusions are at around the 320k mark? Is that including site costs ect? Re: Building Lexington 240 72Mar 01, 2017 3:16 pm Yep so $277,550 was the base cost. Our site costs were $13.6k. Then we had about $40k of extras. Then we added the kingsize promotion which is $30k off for $10k. That's 277 + 13.6 + 40 + 10 - 30 = 330k. Kingsize is on again now. We secured it this time last year. You need to pay a $1500 deposit from memory to secure it. It's basically $20k off your price. You should be able to ring your sales office and ask for a "new home estimate" with provisional site costs. They can also give a price sheet (if you push them) showing every house. Note that prices are location specific and change every couple of months. Since building stared we added another $1000 in extra tiles and square set, plus added $700 for zoned heating (yes heater in 33sq home is not zoned by default) plus a fridge water outlet for $150. Re: Building Lexington 240 73Mar 16, 2017 3:35 pm Got some photos from the site. Kitchen is in sans appliances. Most electric fit off is done and tiling and floors are done. Was going for stain resistance. Re: Building Lexington 240 74Mar 16, 2017 3:51 pm A few more pictures from outside showing the now finished and cleaned bricks. These came in a while ago but just putting them up now. I think downpipes are done and some of the front feature cladding is also done. Your ensuite looks amazing! Tiles look like Belga grey? Brickwork looks really neat from photos, are you happy with it in person? Do you remember your carpet colour? Ours is cyber grey, I'm wondering if it's the same. I remember ours not being one of the darkest greys but the photos I have of it with the bath floor tile indicate that it's darker than I remember Re: Building Lexington 240 76Mar 16, 2017 4:04 pm Re: Building Lexington 240 78Mar 16, 2017 4:12 pm The brickwork is quite good and we love the colour (as do all the other people in the estate using the same bricks!) however some bricks have little cracks in them. We pointed the cracks out to the SS who said that 3 or more cracks they chuck it away but 1 or 2 cracks the brick is still used. It's an artefact of how it's fired apparently. Yep. Not totally sure I agree but we found 2 other houses on the next street over also using Selkirk Macedon and they have the same little cracks. It's not every brick though maybe 10%? The other issue is that we got 3 spares from about 9000 bricks. Tad annoyed as I wanted a matching letter box. My feeling is that JGK just sent the unused bricks back to Selkirk because I swear in an earlier photo we had a whole block of bricks spare and we almost done bricking. But I can't prove that. There is a good range of colour and many bricks have a nice stripe affect in them which I think is from ramming the different clays together not mixing them. Maybe someone else in the estate will have a few bricks left over for your letter box . Leaving you with 3 bricks is a bit rough. I bet they've moved them on to another job, or returned them like you say. Maybe ask your supervisor nicely if they are using them anywhere else and if it would be possible to get some more spares from any leftovers. Re: Building Lexington 240 80Mar 16, 2017 4:29 pm I never uploaded our colour palette so hopefully it's not too late now. For outdoor colours we have: Macedon bricks with a basalt roof, front door and garage door and surfmist windows and fascias. Fencing and sheds in the estate are woodland grey but it's not shown. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ For indoor colours we have: -- belga taupe tiles at the back and then top to bottom we have: -- the laundry benchtop (pure mineral stone) -- the lower kitchen cupboards and island (tenderfoot) -- the upper kitchen and butlers feature cupboards and all bathroom vanities (natural oak) -- the essastone (silica) used in the kitchen and butlers benchtops and all vanities.
